with so few classes going to each race i am concerned about the depth of RP available .. I am a huge Warhammer fantasy lore fan and really would like to see more races than just empire/dwarf/high elf .. i mean how many Witchhunters/runepriests etc is it going to take before the RP starts to get really affected?
I was just reading some Abnett today and this thought occurred to me .. a vast amount of the lore is based around the differant races of humans .. i dunno maybe im just concerned about nothing .. just thought i'd see what everyones opinion is |

I think you would be pretty hardpressed to find anyone else that gives a **** about RPing in WAR really. I'm sure there's some of you, just not enough to you know, matter enough to make radical changes for the sake of balance. |

It is what you make of it. And let's hope the RP server keeps a Lotro quality to it. Had a wonderfull time roleplaying in wow and we all know how RP friendly that game is ^^. Bah i'm a bit drunk. |

RP will not be a concern on an RP server. I'm sure there will be other careers, even races rolled out with future expansions. |

Practicality is a bitch.
Heh, but seriously I prefer that races are not treated like they are in most MMORPG's.. i.e. an additional option which usually results in just different visuals and a slight stat difference. The races have their own unique classes and that makes it mean more. Who knows, its likely there will be expansions in the distant future with new races.. |

while i agree that we are going to be a huge minority .. we do get our own servers so eh ..
i would play on a normal server but i really just hate stupid Leet names kids use to make themselves feel better.. i wanna play WAR for the warhammer fantasy aspect .. cause i like reading the novels and if i can get something even close to the fun i get out of the novels from the game im cool .. nothing ruins for me anyway the immersion of playing a fantasy set game than someone running around with a name like Cnorrisrulez lol
so i dunno i know it won't be even close to perfect but is it really so hard to name a toon something remotely close to the genre? why do the OWNZ crowd insist on playing every game like its counterstrike? |

I wouldn't have too much hope on the RP aspects of the game. The issue isn't classes. It's the scope of the game. Now when I say scope, I'm not talking about the game mechanics. WAR has plenty of content and stuff to do and the world is large. The scope I am referring to is the story. WAR takes place during a time of heavy warfare. Doesn't seem very appropriate to sit around a tavern talking about whom you met or what you did when there are enemies trying to break down the city walls to completely annihilate you. The Warhammer Universe might be huge and expansive but the game focuses on the war itself and leaves little room for anything else. It's like trying to RP in a World War II setting. You fight. You talk about fighting and that's about it. |

The name 'role playing server' is code word for "no prepubescents allowed". At least, that's what it should be....
I, for one, cannot stand communities such as WoW's, where 90% of the player base are 12-17. So I will definately be rolling on an RP server if they are available.... where i'll likely meet players who were born before the year 2000 and have been fans of Warhammer ever since it came out 25 years ago. |

that is true .. I never really thought about it like that .. because the game is so PVP focused perhaps roleplaying in it would seem retarded .. *shrugs* hmm .. i spose there isn't much RP in Warhammer miniauture gaming as there won't be much here ..so .. with that being said what is the point in an RP server?
just keeping out the stupid names perhaps? hey that'd bout be enough for me lol |

Originally posted by Billr00 Unlike other games that claim to have roleplay servers and policies but choose not to enforce them, you will not have that issue with Mythic. back when I played DAOC, I played on an RP server because I loved the psuedo-historical immersion. Mythic was strict with their policies and enforced them constantly. So while you may be in the minority, it will be a serious, well-respected minority and Mythic will make make RP servers a great place. |

Thats.. heaven to my ears. I played a RpPvP server myself, because I love both those things. Acasional casual RP, and nub killing was fun too, but it always pissed me off hearing "LOL RP. LOLOL GREIF GREIF" On a f-ing Rp servers, and the GMs not doing shet. |

that sounds awesome .. can't wait to see how they handle these servers .. might be just one notch to make WAR a terrific game |

In other words you are a soldier around other soldiers. What you see are going to be a lot of people just like your toon. Just like people in the army see a bunch of other people in the army. The only reason you are not completely the same and all in uniform is because the Order of the Griffon is an elite force. |
