29 and going for destruction. All my friends that are buying the game will be playing destruction too. That's about 8 more between 29-36 going destruction ;)

I doubt that the average age will be anywhere near that low.  If the average MMO player is 26 (only research I have seen on this), then even a game that skews very young is going to have an average age of 22 or something.

People tend to get dumber as they older, not smarter.

One reason this poll may not reflect the same as other polls, besides MMORPG bias,  could be that people tend to think of themselves differently when you put their age in the context.  So a 37 year old that is thinking 'I am going to roll up a Marauder and kick some ass!', may look at the poll and think 'well I am 37 and I don't want to play with the 16 year olds, so I guess I had better go with order'.

That's actually why I broke it down into age brackets rather than simply asking "Order or Destruction?"  That way we can look at a particular bracket and see how it's balancing out.  So yes, the majority of the people on this forum might be more mature, but the younger crowd itself seems to be gravitating in a particular direction.  I'd have expected Destruction there as well, but it seems like Order has the edge. 

Order is strongest with the youngest and most mature players, while Destruction is strongest with the middle age brackets.  That is quite a surprise.  It'll be interesting to see if it holds as more players weigh in.

By the way, the reason I don't have higher age ranges in my poll is twofold:

1. Polls are limited to 10 options.  I could have added only one more bracket, anyway.
2. In my experience with other MMO's, there's very little difference in actual player maturity between someone who's 36 and someone who's 66.  They tend to have the same overall attitudes and likes/dislikes in their games.

This poll's results are actually proving somewhat problematic for my guild.  We have a few young members, but most of us run 25-45.  The demographics of this poll indicate that we'd be likely to be split between wanting Order or Destruction.  Interestingly, the split is working out in real life to be very similar to this poll.  :)

40 yo going for Destruction, but definitely trying both sides. Some of the order look pretty good to me as well. Going for the underdog squig herder  to start with though!

Just turned 18 myself, Destruction as my main, but I'll definitely be rolling an Order alt. Very interesting poll, I wonder what the results will be like in 3-4 days.

Isn't there reliable and accurate statistical data that shows that the average MMO player is in their mid-20s?

And there are more female gamers than they are males under 18...

36 and going Order.  Though after  I play some time with my runepriest, I will give a destruction class a try but still not sure on which.
