I started playing this game after playing Age of Conan for a month. I wasn't expecting much as I have tryed a few free mmorpgs (make that a lot) but I was pleasantly surprised. This has got to be the best free mmo out there, well at least that I have tried. There is a lot to be said about it but I'm just too lazy right now. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask and I'l try to fill you in. Just wanted to post another thread about how good it is so that others sitting on the fence about whether or not to download and instal it might be more inclined.

For a F2P this is an excellent game, I enjoyed it in Beta as well as now.  I dont think I ever had a F2P game hold my attention as long as this game has.

I have to admit that I did the same thing. Level 1 to 25 is really good but after that the game takes a bad downward spiral.

Not only that but if you voice anything negitive in the fourm at Requiem, the comunity manager will deleted that post on grounds that it is 'potential flame bait' or 'Potential trolling' or some reason to justify their action to censor your input. The negitive posts vanish on a daily basis so most new players don't see them.  I would not give this game a good rating now that I had 3 weeks to play it.

There is no Lore to the game at all. There is nothing to tie the world together but one goal. GRIND

Only reason to join a guild is to grind faster.

The quests given are good at the low level But after 25 you won't find shit to do but grind.

I'm lvl 27 right now and have 14 quests in my log. lvl 25 with no quests? ya right...

is true. most f2p korean games are simply grindfests.... only game that isnt completely grindfest as i can tell is shaiya, but even that is boring. Im a gamehopper i guess. Stillc ant find a game that will capture my attention for more than 2 weeks. i tried almost all of them on this site..above 7 for rating. requiem is just another grind game...big whup, the blood doesnt get me happy either, and im big on gore. this game just kinda sucked imo.

No real plot or storyline to speak of. Its just a cookie cut of all korean games.

I love how people claim this after a short play...give it a few weeks, youll see.  A few weeks of beta and tired of it, nothing to do but grind, clumsy pvp controls, unbalaced classes, major gameplay flaws...  wait till you notice the gameplay flaws.  They didnt fix any of this after beta either.  Oh and no global chat for free players...how boring.  but it is gore-porn if your into that.

oh and whay does everyone who starts these "best free mmo ever" threads always have to mention they just came from AoC...no one gives a rats ass

This game is the best free MMO ever. Unfortunately, it turns into a completely different game at lvl 20. Man, was I pissed. I even signed up with premium, because the content pre-20 is so fantastic. Once at 20 you're expected to do the very occasional quest, and grind the same mob in the same place forever. Dungeons are a joke, too. You pull, and immediately die due to about 10 spells being cast on you at once.

I believe it's a bit too early to be deeming it as the best mmo ever. The beginning levels are fun, but as the game closes and you approach the lvl cap the fun begins to decrease as you approach the higher levels, but it is also to early to say anything about end game activities seeing as the game has barely been out of beat for a month. More content will have to if they expect to keep the higher level people.

guys r u kidding me?? best free mmo ever?? yea i hav downloaded Requiem too but when i play it and get to second job i feel little boring and that much of blood and darkness makes my head dizzy...  i am playing Rappelz and i thinks Rappelz is the best F2P MMO ever!!.. and i have a lvl 118 Evoker and Rappelz Epic 5 is come!! now Rappelz is more fun and great!! PLAY it u wont be regretful after playing Rappelz ( the best free mmo ever) Believe me

"Best ever...." is purely subjective.  I'm sure my criteria for the best F2P game is different from yours.  Every game has its own unique features that make it worth playing.  However, everyone gets bored and will look for their next "best ever..." eventually.

Sure there is a lot that can be said in favor of Requiem, the graphics (eye-candy) being at the top of the list.  There is also a lot of negative things to take into account such as the graphics lacking substance (interactive).  But for those of you who value grinding over roleplay, Requiem is as good as it gets.

This is to the poster who said you go into a dungeon and pull a monster and they kill you with 10 spells cast or whatever.  The point of most dungeons is to build a party to go in, otherwise you will die, die, die.  I know, I've tried.  If you're careful sometimes you can survive, but you have to be careful. 

I guess the social aspect of the game is too much for some players.  I often play solo but know when to team and joined a guild for the camaraderie and support.  As far as quests, there are quests above 25, but there are dry spots at certain levels where quests are very limited and so you mostly grind.  I actually am at such a spot now.  I'm a level 40 character.  Thanks goodness I am ~90% towards level 41.  By the way, I believe the requiem wiki has a table of the quests at each level or it may be in the forums, I am not sure.  All the same, just looking at the list tells you where the most grind levels are and they are distributed around above 25.  I do believe a fair criticism is the lack of much content near the level cap.  It reduces players to enlist for events once or twice a week, once you get up there in levels.

I find that requiem is very fun.   In fact I have more fun playing it than I ever had playing any other MMO except for city of heroes when you get a massive party together. 

So far it is far less grindy than any other MMO i have ever played and this includes WOW and EQ2.

So far for me, it is the best free to play MMO out there.

it looks like shit,only thing it has is gore,and some rag-doll effect from the havoc engine,and if you like this game only for these 2 things you are a dumbass redneck who somehow got a hold of a pc,and by a miracle learned the basics of how to use it in a year

muonline is motherf***ing better,yah that's right even in 2008 mu is f***in better than this piece of shit game,and not muonline where u actually p2p, free muonline global where u got only 3 mofo servers to login,and p2p users get all the good stuff

you want some good games,well go play cabal,perfect world,2moons(this one has a lot of bot-ers tough),and cabal and 2moons got overpriced cash shops,in 2moons u pay as much as another guy pays/moth to get a reskill,you get a free one,but only one,and if you wana have top skills at all lvls you cant reskill only once

cabal tough doesn't need reskills,but it olso doesn't really need party's,unless ur high lvl,and even then u can't take you're time an chat in a party cause you will be combo-ing and shit,else everybody dies

i left this game after i tried to catch up to somebody and make a 24h skill train,my eyes hurt for like 3 days after that,now that fucking sucked,

and perfect world is like this:quest,quest.. quest quest quest,and some other quests and almost nothing else till you get sick of it,u get to a point where you got arrows pointing in every direction of the map,cause you got quests,and you have to do em,cause u can't lvl with no quests(it makes playing with friends almost impossible,cause its very hard for everyone to have the same motherf***in quest all the time)

now better yet go outside,don't play any mmo and have fun

Give the fanbois a few weeks, the game has enough pointless grind, latency bugs, and lag to really suck the fun out of the gore porn.  Most people are huge fanbois of a game for the first few weeks, then realize that the game is just ok...after a while they soon realize the games boring and move on...unless of course the game has content and is fun.  This game lacks content, the best route this game offers is to grind, level up, move to higher level mob, grind...rinse and repeate.  PVP would have been a savoir but the pvp offers clumsy controls and no added benefit other than feeling cool over ganking.

If everyone thinks this game is such rubbish, offer up some f2p games that are better for whatever reasons.  So we can compare/contrast and decide for our own which game to play.

I can forgive a certain amount of grind and other issues but the disconnects, the lag and the incredible number of bugs that will never get fixed are inexcusable.

I wouldnt mind grinding so much if I wasnt getting disconnected every 10 minutes. Doing lame, no story quests dont bother me too much but when the quest objective is wrong then I get upset.

I would say Requiem has the title for "Best free to play MMO that had potential but was completely squandered by lazy and incompetent developers."

ppl complain too damn much, this is a great game, and yes i have been playing for more than a month!  wouldnt say it was the BEST but its damn good.

I used to have a lot of graphical lag a few months ago, walked away, then recently came back. Most of the problems that I had have been patched out.

I can't say that this is the best free MMO ever, but I enjoy it. The grind is like meditation.

I wouln't say its the best, but yet I wouldn't say its one of the worst. I love playing it :)

I have to agree...This is definetly one of the best MMORPGs Out there at the moment...and just wait untill next year...they are fixing problems and so on...I just have to say that If you havnt tried it ...Belive me ITS GREAT...Absoloutly great but some glitches are of course bad but still they are fixing them so dont worry bout that.
