I was curious as to if you can talk to the opposing faction, or is it like World of Warcraft where it is purely emotes?

Its just emotes at the moment.

Nope, there is the equivelent of 'so and so says something in a language you can't understand'.

Only smack talking in game across realms you will hear is some creative emoting.

Just emotes.  Otherwise you get the.... (Name Here) has said something in a language you cannot understand.

I would say its like WoW with emotes, though I have no idea as ive not been in beta. i wish you could speak to the opposing faction, trash talking was such an art in past games i played like Ultima Online..

Would be great if you could turn languages on and off, so that when both sides are in the mood for trash talking, they could do so... because come on, trash talking is great fun.

Argggg i hated the fact u couldnt smack talk in WoW, thats part of the whole pvp experience for me....god i miss the good ole days of MMO's now it just catters to the carebear douche bags ><...o wells tea bag emote it is hehe

 Woot, that's kewl, I would hate to have the same problems as PVP in AOC... I like my "You're not like me, I hate anyone who can't understand me, faction pvp relationships". Sorta makes me want to kill more. :P

Somehow I think an orc that has a big @ss fireball searing his flesh to a nice blackened color, will comprehend the end goal of my thoughts even if conveyed in a language he can't  readily decipher.

trouble is it gets abused.  If we were allowed the freedom in mmorpg to get revenge on spys and traitors maybe but allowing unfettered chat could ruin the game.

Can you create order and destruction characters on the same server/account?

no theres no having order and destruction on same server with only 1 account for live release, this is a game where spieing would ruin the fun.  anyone that buys 2 accounts just to spy on the other faction is a dueche bag far worse then any care bear

What if you restricted it just to /say within range of an enemy player? That would allow for the fun smacktalk and minimize spying I think.

Besides, if people want to betray information to the enemy, they can just do it outside the game, like on forums...

Personally, I love care bears. Especially Birthday Bear. Who doesn't like birthdays? Or Good Luck bear, cause who wouldn't love a green bear with a shamrock on his belly? And that care bear "stare" of theirs... Imposing love and happiness on their enemies by sheer force. Quite ubar.
