Well..I bought AOC, bought my Zboard keyset for it, bought the strategy guide..........2 weeks later I'm cancelling my account even before my 30 days of free trial are up.

IMO....what a turd this turned out to be.  While not on par with Vanguard's launch this one wasn't far behind, especially after I gave it an additional 4 months to bake before trying it.

I think the game may end up being something down the road...I really view it more as a more mature Shadowbane....kind of Shadowbane all grown up.  You can tell the focus is on PVP because group mechanics aren't there, the classes just don't have skills that complement each other that well.  There really is no need to group...that is if you can find people who want to group on the PVE server.

Anyway...enough of my ranting...Game just really wasn't the home run I thought it was going to be.  I'll just keep on looking.

Now that you mentioned it, that classes do have a very solo feel.  It's like playing a class in Diablo 2.  Each class can hold their own completely and only have a couple of abilities that compliment others around them well.

WAR !   look no further. I am in WAR beta and that game delivers on everything they promise. it is awsome.

you even get XP in PvP and loot (the loot comes not from the player looted. he loses nothing)

plus an awsome PvE system (Tome of Knowledge, Public Quests), that you have never seen in any game yet

I couldn't stomach more than 2 weeks in AoC either, though i got it at release and not a few months down the road. I did make it to 50, which is over half of the game so I think I gave it a fair chance. Especially given all the warnings on the board about it. It was just a huge letdown and my shortest sub ever...

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.

Good thing you canceled 2 weeks early, alot of people get billed by Funcom at least  a week before renew dates. But guess they had to do something to come up with the 400k subs number in august lol

Doesnt take long to see what poor quality this game is and the patches are consistently the worst I have ever seen in a game.

I personally like how the PVP patch is just a few weeks away...for the last 2 1/2 months lol. I personally dont consider 10 weeks and counting a few. And we know its not because of quality control, look at the other patches not one bit of quality there.

More hype for the Tome of Knowledge.  There is nothing special about the Tome.  It is a copy of city of Heroes badge system.  You do something a lot and you get an achievement which give you some exp.  That is not a huge feature, especially when two other games have done it just as well.

I went into preview weekend thinking it was going to be some huge thing dealing with relics and zone buffs.  It was just a book telling me all my little kills and achievemnts.

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective.

Ignorance is bliss in Funcom's world. Ignore this ignore that, ignore their customer, live in a bubble pretending to listen to their customers with a nice voice doing jack shit. Congrats for making the choice to quit as fast as I did. Luckly you cancelled your payment 2 weeks before it ran out. Many people have been resubbed for another month even a week before their account time ran out. Also remember that moderators wont let you post stuff now, even when you have play time left.

You must not question this month's messiah game - every single feature of WAR is the most innovative, fun and just plain best ever.
