Are there any good mmo's with progressive skill systems out there like Entropia universe?

Progressive Skill System - For those of you that don't know it where you gain skills in what you do .... there is no placing points on the skills you want even though you have been using a pistol and keep skilling up your longswords lol.

Also time based skill systems like Eve are nice as long as you can get into it in the beta stages to be sure that you can stay at the top in total skills otherwise theres no catching up.

AC1 is a mixture of both.  You put XP into skills, instead of "skill points".  AND you raise skills as you use them.  BTW, you dont have put xp into a skill if you dont want to, it will raise on its own if you use it enough. (although not putting xp into a skill is very non-productive)

Canceling a MMO subscription and posting about it, is like voting for an American president. It doesn’t mean shit unless > 50% post about it and *actually* cancel.

EQ2 is what your looking for I believe. Depending on how you play your character and which powers you use the most the more those skill will increase but I think the only down side is that you can max all your skills out and depending on what level you are depends on how much you can increase that skill. If your looking for a game with no levels and skill based then I suggest EVE.

Top 5 MMOs:
EvE
Ryzom
AO
GW
LotRO

Saga of Ryzom

kill a mob with a big two hander and you get skill points in two handed combat once it dies.

Use some offensive nuke spells with a little bit of one handed melee and after the mob goes down the XP is split and put into casting and one handed melee.

Give it a try

Great game, been playing it since october 2004.
(they're currently giving out free accounts btw, due to new company just bought the game and don't have a billing system up and running yet. Once that comes online it'll go back to its usual fee i imagine.)

Sandbox style game tho, might not be good for everyone, but it most certainly is good for me.
