WAR (Warhammer Online)

They said that the cities would be in as a free patch. The cut classes are most likely not going to be put back in.

They must of played in RvR something terrible. Given that they were featured so much when the game was in development. They paraded the hammerer and choppa in their game conferences, did they not?

The Blackguard, I can understand, the dark elves were the last race brought out (hence we can assume the last race to be developed).

The Knight of the Burning Sun was introduced Paul Barnett during a company christmas party. He gave the KOtBS the worst description. "Just a tank" or something along those lines. I got the feeling that they were not sure how to make the profession different or interesting even then.

WAR had to make a lot of changes as the feedback came in.  Stuff like developing Mastery Lines to answer the "everyone is a clone".  Emphasis on open RvR instead of scenarios was another change in direction.

I suspect the Mastery Lines and feedback from testers made them take a hard look at the KoBTS. What other way can they set this tank archetype apart from the Ironbreaker/ Swordmaster and not look like a LOTRO Captain class?

Then came the announcement called Wrath of the Lich King..

Say what you will, All of a sudden EA is removed from EA/Mythic name? then the cuts were announced, They wanted this game out before the WoW expansion or the piles of EA gold would not be falling from the sky anymore.

The cuts were made, and, looks like the game is no worse so far.

Mark Jacobs already said the cities would be included in patches a few months after launch, not expansions. You will just have to take my word on this one, I don't feel like searching for the link.

No offense, but "everything" EA has it's hands in isn't bad.  Lets just look at the awards they took home from Leipzig:

Best PC Game: Spore

Best XBOX360 Game: Mirror's Edge

Best Wii Game: Skate It

Best Online Game: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Not to mention upcoming games like Left 4 Dead.

I think it's a littel 5-10 years ago that EA did all that shit.  I think they're trying to get their act together honestly.

I mean in the interview with the guys that are making Skate 2 they said it's coming out "When it's Ready."  So no more forced schedules and such.

nahhh ea is still at it, still crapping on there community, they just recently cancelled sims online, if they had half a brain they woulda did some type of station pass like soe does with there mmo titles or something.

I hope they dont add back in the cities. But i do want the classes.

only reason for not wanting 4 cities would be because the RvR could possibly be to split up.  Esp with the lower pop servers.

Umm if you didnt see the pod-cast about this , they cut it because it would cause to much seperation they want all of the realm to protect 1 city instead of being spread out amungst 3, and the classes will be added in later because they arent ready yet.

Having played the Sims for the past 5 years of my life, I'd have to agree that EA is becoming more and more like money suckers. And seeing what they're trying to do with Sims 3 and Spore, it's becoming even more obvious.

I'd hope that they won't pull this crap off with WAR, but it can always happen. Reasons like these are the exact reasons why I hate companies like FC.
