<@Brannoc> pilot tests typically refer to a PR beta |

This is excellent news. This means we can reasonably expect some sort of beta in October, and that release within this year is not completely out of the question. Now all that remains to be seen is what state the game is in, which we will soon enough, as well as the video. This also means I'm backing out of a certain bet I was about to make Either way we have a deadline imposed on Aventurine now, so it means chances are good of getting a lot more info on the state of the game in the next few months than we have ever before, namely coming from a pilot build. I understand the philosophy behind letting the product speak for itself, but I don't agree with it, they should market it, even EVE has gone this far through aggressive marketing. |

Originally posted by kilixen It's indeed a beta. Thanks for proving the point. They state, that it will be a "pilot test" or something like that. It basically means a promotional stress test/open beta. As you might know, they have done the actual beta testing with a limited number of professional testers, for obvious reasons. |

Very interesting. Audiovisual is paying royalities to Aventurine. This means that Audiovisual will be the one collecting our monthly subscription fees instead of Aventurine? Aventurine is leasing the game to Audiovisual to market as it sees fit. I would love to see the fine print of this arrangement. It will be interesting to see who Audiovisual signs to host and run servers for this game.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product." |

What I really want to know is if Audiovisual will go through with the free Playtesting that was promised to the fanbase. They have no prior experience in MMO marketing from what I can see. Will they be able to handle that?
Anyway, that's really the biggest concern I have since apparently Aventurine lets Audiovisual handle everything regarding distribution. |

oh yeah. Top quality gfx! I love the jagged polygons of the monster's head! You people will bash darkfall until it is winning awards. And even after that, I'm sure. THAT'S OK. We don't want your business around our game anyway! |

And none of the Adventurine team have prior MMO experience either. Still, it will be interesting to see what they've managed to do working on crappy laptops, part-time, for eight years. I hope this game does go to beta. The fun has only just begun! Playing: Eve, Fallen Earth, Entropia. Trying D&D Online |

Ya for sure the fun has only begun. Just wait until actual people get to pop in this game... that's when the reality will sink in... just like it did to the thousands of Dark and Light "believers". It aint gonna be what they've been playing in their heads that's for sure. |

I think AudioVisual has a CLAUSE in this agreement that states that they are allowed to test out the product publically before they go ahead and publish it. Hence the "pilot program". Know what happens to Pilot TV shows when no one watches?? They get cancelled. |

Never.
I kind of envy people with such strong dreams. Then again... |

Ah, you could well be right. I thought the pilot thing was odd, but put it down to bad translation. But, a testing of the product sounds feasible. Playing: Eve, Fallen Earth, Entropia. Trying D&D Online |

Several native greek speakers have confirmed that the text used is the formal wording for 'beta'.
A swing and a miss eh vapourtrolls? nice try though! Any other vapourtrolls game to step up or are you all reeling from being wtfpwned (again)?
Vapourtrolls are now VAPOURLOLs. |
