"We''re not making a game for Trekkies" Daron Stinnett, Perpetual Entertainment

I'm curious as to whom Cryptic brought over from PE/P2 considering the similarities between the two projects.  Anyone have a link of who they brought over?

"I'll take MMO disasters for $50, Alex."

"This MMO release in 2008 lost half its player base in the first month after massive hype of non existent features"

"What is Age of Conan?" ...

"Correct, for $50, Ed2099"!

From the apparent look and direction of the game, I'd say everyone.:P

Bet Stinnett is there, they just keep his name off the project for PR reasons.

Ummmm.......you must be an idiot because the only thing the same between the two versions is the name Star Trek Online. Cryptic must have hired a few engineers and artists, who cares? It was the management that sucked at PE/P2.

In PE's STO, there was no ship interiors, except for HUBs, There was no factions, and the graphics were way cartoony. PE's STO was headed to suck-town faster than a warp 10 super ship.

Don't insult MMORPG by posting stupid crap. Sure, I am not too thrilled with the graphics, nor about the news of console versions of STO, but these are preliminary cautions. Things sound good right now.

LOL, obviously you didn't pay attention when it was in PE/P2's hands.  The artwork looks a lot alike and the shade of blue is exactly the same.  The graphics look like there are being done by the same person/team that had it at PE/P2.

You need to correct yourself.  There was PSIs in STO until near the end of PE/P2.  STO had a great start with PE.  It was unfortunate that Daron and company that took over decided to go on the cheap making it a F2P business model type game instead of the original vision of the game.

Hopefully Cryptic went and tracked down Glen because he had a lot of us chomping at the bits for STO with his vision for the game.

Obviously you didn't pay attention too well as I was on these forums and on STO.net right up until the day PE folded. PE only had interiors for starbases and hub ships but had none for player owned ships. This was one of the main reason most hated PE's version so much. If you don't want to believe me just mosey on over to the PE discussion forum on this site and see for yourself. PE only near the end said they would consider putting them in but never said they would definately. Cryptics version has had player ship interiors since day one and the large ships that were going to be hubs in PE's version will be player controlled in the new version. Very different than PE's version.

PE also was dead set against more than one faction for STO from beginning to end. This was also a major bone of contention with many in the fanbase. Cryptics version is set for 2 factions at launch with more to follow. Also very different than PE's version

PE's version had a standard Class/level based advancment structure. Cryptics is non-level based. PE was basically headed toward a mission based quest grinder. From what we've heard from Cryptic their version will be more open with lots of exploration and non combat character advancment opertunities. Very, very different than what PE had in mind.

PE's ships were nothing more than "mounts in space" whereas Cryptic has stated that there ships will be living entities that have many, many people in them(NPCs). These will effect how well your ship will perform particular duties depending on the races/professions of your crew. Very more complex than anything PE was planning.

These are just a few things but there are many more differences if you bothered to go and read anything about Cryptic's STO which it's pretty obvious you haven't. Get your facts straight please before you go on a forum and talk shit about things you obviously know little about.

EDIT: Oh and one more thing. PE had the IP for over 4 years and showed us almost nothing for all that time.....just a lot of talk, concept art and a VERY few screenshots. Cryptic in less than 7 months has already showed us an actual in game video. They are miles ahead of PE in about 1/8th the time.

Of course it looks similar. When they got the IP they got the art work as well. Jack Emmert said that months ago.
