With WAR so near to release, I am wondering what game will be the next big argument on MMORPG.com? My guess is we will just see more endless arguing over wether or not the Darkfall Dev's will ever actually release their game but let's try not to turn this into another Darkflame topic. I personally am going to be following WAR40k's development but it is in it's infancy at the moment. Anything else on the horizon that looks fun? |

Fallen earth, spellborn? Darkfall if released will make a huge impact that will shake the mmo foundation, if its bug free stable server, have enough content and lift up to expectations with freedom and complexity. |

I guess I am wondering which game will really spike the hype meter next. I mean we had Vanguad then Age of Nipples, then WAR... but when I look at the list of upcoming games I don't see a game that I suspect will generate that kind of interest. Other than the Darkflame war, but that looks like it has degenerated into mostly name-calling at this point. |

I'm almost sure that that will be Aion. Unique Sieges, Game already done and Beta Testers from Korea are very proud on the game in the state now. But Game comes out around 2009 Januari because NCSoft want to be sure about the Game before releasing. The Game has also much perspectives of all West and Asian MMO's. This will be the most complete game for this coming years. btw: I'm a Web and Game Designer and have my own Aion Legion at: aionimprovisation.com orginal Site of Aion: aiononline.com Cheers, |

I predict nothing. Darkfall is vaporware. You can't just love Darkfall because you can take over territory. How? What are the game mechanics? Are there keeps to capture, is it like the Corporations in EVE, like DAoC, what? You still don't know after 7 years, but you know it will be good? That makes no sense. All the Darkfall supporters just repeat marketing fluff over and over. It will be innovative, groundbreaking, immersive, give freedom to players, complexity, bla bla bla. Those aren't game mechanics. Aion? I see some nice screen shots, but nothing about the game play really grabs me.
I think we've seen the end of the Dev cycle for 2008 for major AAA titles after the release of WAR. |

Just because you aren't informed well enough doesn't make DF vaporware. We know not much about sieges but enough I guess. Also: Didn't you love the first MMORPG you played and how you found out how the game works (if you did) all by yourself? Everyhing to explore? As for me, I did and would/will love to get that experience back in Darkfall. You can take over a city by besieging it. Besiege the city, try to get inside (by killing the defenders) and then go to the Clan-Stone. If you reached the Clan-stone, things become onclear (I don't know for sure). I'm pretty certain though I read somewhere you have to hold your position near the Clan-stone for a certain amount of time and defend it. Your siege fails if your siege leader gets killed or you just give up. |

Turbine's next MMO and Bioware's MMO.
Those are the two that I think will be big next. Turbine entered an agreement with WB (I think it was Warner Bros) to use their stable of Intellectual Property which includes Harry Potter. Bioware's MMO will be big even if it isn't Knights of the Old Republic, but it will be huge if it is KoToR Online.
Edit*
AION will be big in Asia but I doubt it will be very big here in the West. Even Lineage 2 with it's million plus Subscribers was a major FLOP here in the US. Darkfall (if it ever comes out) will be nothing more then a niche game. Smaller then EvE even. Currently playing: Looking Foward too: |

After 3 years of patience and countless failures ever since WoW released, i think all the MMO to release in the next 2 years will be bugged (Vanguard), uninteresting (AoC), or both (Dark and light); there is also a VIP category of "almost it but not enough funding ro polish" (warhammer). In the end, it all boils down to Blizzard making a new MMO, and it won't be before 2011. |

That doesn't work for me since I don't like WoW. It's to solo friendly for me to enjoy it. So if Blizzard is making another solo friendly MMORPG, that doesnt' do me any good. I'm looking forward to WAR. I like RvR, and all the beta reviews are pretty positive. The current beta reviews are nothing like the beta reviews for AoC and Vanguard. |

I am REALLY looking forward to Jumpgate Evolution. Earthrise looks awesome and Fallen Earth looks like it could be good too. But other than that, there really hasn't been an awesome MMO to come out in the last 3 years. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |
