I must say after reading and seeing the things coming up in WOTLK expansion, i am truly disappointed. Blizz is taking $40 (or maybe 50 or xpac?) from our pockets just to have 1 more new playable class... death knight There are like 4-5 more new instances most of which have recycled monster models with new colors. Naxx is recycled again so i get to play 2 year old content again... Tradeskills are still a joke, and without raiding mats u cant only craft stupid useless stuff. Few more BG's... shouldnt we have more than 4 in 4 years. And forget BG's everyone will form an arena team and afk out to get their free arena gear... play a rogue/druid or warrior/druid anything with druid and win...
I was very hyped after seeing the cinematic but i am not going to pay for the content which should be free after 4 years. I will try WAR for a while, even if it sucks at least i will be fighting against new character models...
Beast boss in UBRS model = Chromaggus in BWL lair = Demons in Area 51 = Trash mobs in WOTLK instances... recycle more??? |

I think WOTLK looks pretty sweet especially enviroment wise. lets go throught the arguments shall we? 1. Adding one new class is a big deal when the classes are setup the way they are in wow with lots of wiggle room and more thant 3 diffenrent playstyles in each one. Also blizzard is trying to keep a strong pve balance and a new class is hard to implemtn when the other classes already pretty much cover all the bases. 2. There are alot more than 5 new instances lol you are so silly i actually laughed out loud. 3. Most people didn't get to play Naxx last time around and i for one would really like to see it. Plus it fits the story better this time around. 4. So, you think raiders shouldn't be rewarded for putting in more time an effort, its more than fair they get there own patterns and mats that they can build better gear with. Don't be a raider hater. 5. This may be your only close to fair point, but with rating restrictions alot of the high end gear is not availible to the afkers in arena, (why would you afk in arena when you lose you get less points every week, i don't think you know how arenas work.) Also i have never ran into an afking arena team. 6.Why should it be free EVerquest isn't even free, go go troll hater. I have seen lots of new models btw in screens and videos so your actually quite wrong on this. 7. Why not use the model again its pretty boss looking if you ask me. Now go away troll and leave WOW in peace.

Quit worrying about other players in a game and just play. |
Actually I am really looking forward to it. I am only a part time WoW player but WOTLK is making me want to push a bit more. New areas to fly over (when I eventually can fly), new forms for my druid, slighter better, crisper graphics (in my opinion anyway), new mounts, and tons of new areas to explore. Plus a new class. I don't raid so don't care about that. Overall looks like a good expansion to me. Venge Sunsoar |

I would like to have seen: More visual enhancements to player character models. More options that would allow you to further customize your characters appearance. (other than just new hairstyles) Ability to change the color of your gear (to include the color of the effects/enchants on your gear). More races. Not new ones to the game, but some of the races we see running around as NPC's. Touch up's on the graphics. Not an overhaul or revamp, just some updates and perhaps a bit more detail to colors, textures, and object models. A way to make open world PvP more meaningful, rather than just being a high level character that wants to show off their gear while raiding the enemy lowbee area's to kill their flight masters and quest givers. Less queue'ing and more pew-pewing. Reduce queue times further. I know, I know queue times are lower than they've been. They need to be 'nothing'... yes, even in other games. But I don't log in just to click on a recruiter then wait 15-30 minutes. World of Waitcraft. Player/guild housing. An option for your alts to start at advanced levels. If you have a lvl 70 or 80, then when you start an alt, they have an option to start off at 1/2 your level. More rep/factional overflow options. Once you have capped your rep with a faction, then why not have any rep you gain after = something? Rep for another faction? I know something like this is going into the game, but when/where/how? And will it work for the old factions, too? Just a few things that I wish we would be seeing.

They re-use the same mobs all the time but just change the size of them and give them a different name. The quests are repeated too but with changes to the text. People have been feeding them money for the privilege of this repetition for years now and people will do it again with the expansion. Blizzard knows they are on an easy money-making ride but why should they care if people are willing to pay? If I had made a game that follows the same formulae all the way through and then realised that I could do it again and get even more money for it then you bet I would charge as much as I could. Its called business and Blizzard are very good at taking peoples money. Later they will probably release another expansion, adding another extra class (lifeknight lol), another 10 levels and a bit more extra space to run around in. They will charge some more money for it and people will pay again. In fact they could do it for a few more years I'm sure. ....and of course you were hyped by the trailer. Thats what it is designed to do. The actual game is never anywhere near as exciting as the cinematic trailer. But yeah the deathknight is crap but they know damn well that the kids will love it because its eeeeevvvvilllll and therefore its keeeewwwwlllll. |

I dont play WoW nor care for it, im not really a WoW hater either, but i truly believe that companies should stop charging players for expansions. The insane amount of money Blizzard makes is more than enough to pay for their expansions. Maybe im spoiled because ive only played MMOs with free expansions but i think thats the way it should be. For that matter all my friends who play WoW get irritated at the fact that these so-called expansions Blizzard shurns out barely have content warranting the money they ask for. Same goes for EQ/EQ2 and the rest tbh. Lineage 2 (i have my qualms about the game economy/grind but its still a great game to me) has TWO expansions every 12 months practically, each one with more contant than what ive seen Blizzard pump out every 2 years. Hell even EvE has 2 per year with considerably more content Again, not to pick on Blizzard and WoW only since this is an illness consuming the industry, but i think its unfair to have players pay for expansions when the sub should me enough to maintain servers/misc costs. |

This is actually the problem with WotLK. You can't just go through WoW without raiding. I don't raid much either, I barely got up to that one huge cyclops monsters raid in Burning Crusade aside from Karazhan. Aside from the scenery, you will miss out on a good chunk of story and content by not raiding. Considering the devotion of the fans, they want to engage players through a team-work scenario--- WoW isn't setup properly for great PvP, so they balance it out on their PvE end with Raids.
Explore, you say? Northrend has been noted to be a fraction smaller than Outlands (which doesn't make sense to me, considering they did the Draenei/BElf areas AND Outlands in one shot). If you pace yourself, you'll run out of exploration in 4 months if you play at least 8 hours a week. |
