You are confusing the BEST PVE environment with the EASIEST PVE environment. EQ2 has not challenge, no death penalty, and is every bit as easy as WoW (maybe easier). EQ2 has become a second rate WoW clone. If you like EASY then I am sure you love EQ2..if you like an actual challenge in your game like most people, EQ2 is simply far to easy...When you can go from level 1 to level 80 and only die 11 times the game is just WAY to simple....I did that with my cunjorur and only died 16 times with my monk....in 80 levels...tha's just entirely too easy...
you never died in the city of myst? and damn dude, i think i died 11 times in one evening in chelsith, RE2 you will die in that zone, as well as shard of hate, what about sebillis or maidens, you died less than 11 times in any of those zones, playing eq2 and two worlds |

You are just so full of bull and made a complete fool out of yourself with this post. Sure if you only do greyed out quests or wait till they are green for as many levels as possible, then sure the game is easy peasy. Like any other MMO. Try do Heritage Quests or one of the many challenging other quests when they are still white or even yellow! Let's see if you can still easy peasy solo them without dying! Yet alone Heroic Quests. No one, exept a handful of hardcore vocalists want EverQuest 2 to be what it was at launch with excessive death penalties and endless corpse runs! Give me a break man. People play a game for fun, not to be frustrating job! EverQuest 2 is still going strong (numbers have always been fluctuating between 250k and 350k subs) and many people still enjoy the game, including my still very active guild. Next to that EverQuest 2 has far more content then WoW, has far more features and complexity then WoW will ever have. You really fail at trolling! I have never been a SOE fanboi, as I hate them for what they did with SWG! But I am man enough to give them credit where due. And they do a great job with EverQuest 2. They made some mistakes here and there and ROK expansion not being their best work, but overall there they are doing better and better now. Cheers |

To those of you who are considering giving EQ2 a try, it is a great game. It is not, nor has it ever been a WoW clone. The graphics are superior (that said, you do need a good machine to make it look that way and I agree this needs some work, especially for a four year old game), the game play is superior and it is not as easy as some here seem to think. It is certainly not "WoW" easy... It is the best PvE/quest game out there in my opinion and I have tried every major MMORPG to be released. I keep coming back to EQ2. (The PvP may be lacking, but then I am not a big fan of PvP.) There are, as I have recently realized, a lot of people in these forums who simply hate SOE and anything SOE puts out due to some old grudges. |

EQ2 CSR:the Bug you reported is a new game feature, and will be removed in the next patch. |

Two years, too late if you ask me, that’s how long I been off EQ2, and I’m glad for it. I'll stick with CoA when they get the bugs out and performance issues out of the way. |

TBH, the health of EQ2 PvP server experienced a severe dip when adventurer experience was forced on player kills. With top tier always plagued by over-powered Rogues and imbalanced itemization (favoring melee, extreme resists to magic have always been available end-game), many players made alternative characters to enjoy the variance in content, that of which was a lot more even-footed than in the other level ranges. Having jumped to nerf this level-locking playstyle PvE players complained about on the forums, SOE blasted the longevity had throughout the expanse of their game's content, at least for PvP servers. Now, PvP in T2-T3 is sparse compared to what it had been, and T5-T7 zones, and PvP therein, is typically barren. SOE will never recoup their losses even one iota in this degree, as they've far too great an arrogant air about their aim for the game when what's done is done. The reformation began from a PvE player who wouldn't accept the need to respawn elsewhere and find other areas to quest in aside from the beginning area, who then created a thread that amassed 55 pages. Game Update #41 was when EQ2 PvP happy land turned from its righteous, tumultuous stand -- about 6 & 1/2 months after that thread began. |

dudes,Do you all still play EQ2? If yes, then howcome? Most of the stuff I read here is all negative about EQ2.... "They dont do this, this sucks, that sucks they never do this, they clone this, they steal this" Why do you still play it if all the stuff you say is negative? Are there any good things about EQ2? I do agree, there could be some improvement in EQ2, but this game isnt much worse then any other mmorpg. Take WOW for example.. ive heard LOTS of people brag on how great this is compared to EQ2 and every other game.. so i tried it. and was totally shocked, I thought I was playinga childs game. the characters look way too fake. sure the graphics there are better then EQ, but thats it. SO what happened??? I deleted it a few min later, was just so disappointed . Of course, like EQ, this is only a taste and everyone has different tastes ( gott sei dank) ps. the Guild Halls look awesom!!!! Qeynosus mystic-RP |

Yes, i still play eq2, I like it as its not such a demanding game as I cant play games like that as i have kids, but it still has it's challenges in dungeons and raids. I am very pleased spirit shards are gone as well as the overly complicated crafting combines that used to make crafting boring and rediculously unessecarily stupid. playing eq2 and two worlds |

ya, it seems like mmorpg.com is a place where those that cant make it in EQ2 go and whine and complain about it.lol i prefer Allakahazam or others too. to be honest, EQ2 is the most life like, funnest, thing out at the moment, Of course there is lots of room for inprovement, but what game couldnt use inprovements? the only think I have to complain on EQ2 about is the epic weapons. Ever since they made the epic quest available and everyone can now get their epics, it took out the excitement in it. to much epic weapons now, they should reduce the amount or something. No, MMORPG.com is a place that people go searching for a general overview of the MMOG world, MUDs and HTML-based options aside. |

No game is perfect. EQ2 is definitely flawed in some aspects, but it got many other things right. So what if it took time to get around to guildhalls? It's not an essential part of the game. It's just nice to have.
EQ2 is one of the most flexible PvE games I've ever played, and it's still fairly true to the spirit of the original 'graphical MUD'. Either you hate that style of game or you love it. If you like WoW more, then play WoW. If you like EQ2 more, then play EQ2. From what I've seen of the population, it's fairly stable. There is enough of a playerbase that I bump into people when I'm online all the time, whether it's offpeak American hours (since I play on Crushbone) or onpeak. That's what matters to me if I want to group. Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC. |

What I want to know is where these "WOW clone" comments are coming from? What is a clone? How? To me some of these negative comments seem more like "bash the competition" or "I hate SOE so I'm gonna take it out on X" posts than anything actually worth paying attention to. Different strokes for different folks, so if EQ2 isn't your cup of tea then find a game that is. No game is perfect and I'll be the first to say it has issues, but in spite of it all I am still playing four years later. Being overly harsh, critical or just plain trolling is just dumb. |
