The german CM Sterntaler has posted some clarifying facts on how the Open Beta process will roll out in the future as well as some comments on the communication between Mythic and GOA. Here is the translated version:
 

• European payment options include, but are not limited to, credit card, gametime card, pay-pal and Click&Buy. For Germany, ELV (bank transfer) is also a valid option.
   
• Starting tomorrow (28th of August) the PreOrder versions of the Standard Edition will be available and the online retailers will start sending out the codes and boxes.
   
• The standard pre-order does not guarantee access to Open Beta.
   
• Some selected retailers, however, will supply a guaranteed access to open beta with the acquisition of the pre-order. The full list of these partners will be made available tomorrow.
   
• For the german speaking community, thousands of beta spots will be given out through community sites (Note by Avien: sry, no information on english/french, etc. so far)
   
• For both the Open Beta or headstart, the client will be available for download. It will be about 12 GB in size. This client can then be patched for release day.
   
• With the headstart code, you will be able to play until September 22nd (that is for day after launch) until we will require you to put in a retail box code. This is to ensure everyone will be able to play even if there is some delay in delivery.

So yeah, looks like us D2D.co.uk preorder people will be getting our codes/download links in a matter of hours!!!

I'd like to stress how much i appreciate GOA, especially for the last point! (4 days saving period, to give time for your WAR boxes to arrive... if you haven't purchased through D2D)!

When and where?  The 28th has been and gone.

Today is the 28th of August. The workday of 28th isn't over yet even in Japan, so there is still plenty of time. (~9 hrs for UK)

It also clearly states "starting tomorrow 28th" so you may or may not get OB codes ON the 28th. This is just the OB codes, the specific time/date of the client download being made available hasn't been announced yet.

It's been 28th for 10 hrs already in CET :)

I was talking about GOA's workday end, since I doubt they will work overtime just for OB code release, ie 28th afternoon 1800 latest. Seeing as GOA is either on Ireland or France time that is in 8-9 hrs.

 I think we'll just get the info about preorder stores today and probably wont start getting the actual codes until tomorrow.

Ok, well i'm in France, and GOA is based in France (associate partners of France Telecom i believe). We have just woken up :P
