I tried every major mmo out there since 1999 and i even played dark age of camelot and you know what am 100% confident War ganna be a winner so i'll be there at the head start and you wont your lost bud .

First of all i think your TOTALLY miss the point of being a beta tester. A beta tester is supposed to test the game out and find the flaws and help with advancement and improvement of the game until the final product is released. you on the other hand just played this game as a free demo to see if you liked it or not. You my friend are the kind of people that piss me off because i know there are many others out there that would have loved to beta to make the game better not get a free play out of it, and because you just wanted a free play you expect a final product not something unfinished, which is exactly what a beta is btw.

so let me break down a few things why its so obvious that you are just a leech on this game and didnt even do what you signed up for:

1. Tell me what other game out there has combat similar. All action points with a career specific pool? I cant remember any successful mmo that ,or any mmo for that matter, which shared that same resource pool idea for combat. So unoriginal? i think not.

2. I really wonder if you made it past level 10 for any class or how long ago you played because (again) some classes werent even done until a month or so ago and until you get your T2 gear at least its harder to feel like your roll in your char. Lawl or you just solo'd all the time and got owned....thats not very engaging either

3.Here we go again, obviously the game isn't done so obviously all the animations arent even in place and sometimes they can be buggy, i mean for a while the marader's arm wouldnt even change but it does now (like other bugged ones too), and the animations are always under constant adjustment

4.Uhh...what other mmo these days isn't linear? Wow....eq..eq2....and why you might say? so you can get some focus on the game. Games like swg had no focus or vision. it was just so random you never felt bound to your environment. I mean as far as im concerned WAR has had the most interesting leveling scheme ive seen so far (and ive played LOTS of mmo's :P) I mean how  many times did you play another mmo and DREAD rolling a new char because of how boring/dead/same the zones are. In war you can roll a different char and go to a different story line if you want. thats 3 different stories you can get out of one side. Definately more than previous mmo's

5. my last and final example that OP is a nub. One more time, the game isnt done, you cant even change teh graphics options and the graphics arent final at all, once it is all finished it will look much nicer.

While the OP has some very valid points about the game, some find it fun ..others don't. The fact is that it caters to a different type of MMO player. Warhammer is DEFINATELY not for everyone, but the thing is that people are pretty frustrated that there really isn't any other decent game out there right now that's sorta new.

AoC was complete and utter trash and it ruined ALOT of high hopes.

So now folks are catering to Warhammer as their long lost MMO love, and they will force themselves to like it because there isn't anything else worth playing. Not sure if I fall into this category or not.

While the RVR is fun, I can see where people say it's getting boring.

What's really interesting is that the classes are SO balanced that they appear to be weak in every way, shape and form. None of the classes really scream out (yes even in PVE) and deliver something that draws some people to play. They ARE kind of bland, but thats what makes the game different.

Thats really why this game isn't for everyone.

dont buy it. go back to vanguard. that simple. vanguard has already proven it is a huge let down." WAR will not fail in tht way.

I agree. I have been in beta since August of last year and I respect the OP's opinion but feel the exact opposite. In fact Im surprised the OP even mentioned that the graphics are bad since he should know from being in beta for so long that they are not fully implemented yet, in fact most betas usually do not let you play the game at the highest resolutions that will be available at release. To each their own. Everyone has different tastes. This game suits mine just fine, I hope you find a game that suits yours mate!

Fully agree with OP. I too stopped closed BETA about 2 months ago, i came back a couple of weeks ago to check on what could be a pre-release version and some of the issues that put me off are still in.

Namely:

- Animations are stiff and unoriginal

- Combat is really nothing new and i cant get over the feeling of slowness

- Lack of Gear variety

- Overall UI feel old and clunky

I am sure a lot of people will enjoy it, but it just wasn;t for me or as it turns out the OP.

Not really, it's mainly the world design and gameplay/combat that get to me. Besides, I doubt they would have done a huge overhaul on the graphics right before release, as I haven't seen it happen in ANY beta I've been in. As for the animations, yeah they could have fixed that, but I doubt it. Of course, I haven't logged on to check myself. Have they fixed them?

there is a developer Q& A over at warhammer alliance, yes they said there will be new animations added. but i seriously doubt that will help your problem with the game. the fact vanguard has 10 times worse graphics and animation puzzles me why you would have a problem with that in WAR.

you my sir are for sure no doubt about it a liar and are not in beta

if yo were in beta you would have known

-animations arnt fully implemented

-it is actually faster than WoW

-not sure what gear variety so im not going to disprove you on this

-UI is completly customizable so i think not

Longtime mmo'r (11years+) and  don't plan on buying it as I am happy in my current game. That being said I'm sort of glad to hear from some that doesn't like it. I put extra good/bad reviews in the same category but like someone mentioned the op hasn't been involved in the game in a long time so his view is fairly old as mmo's go in betas. But it's always a good idea not to get your expectations too high for any new game as you are setting yourself up for disappointment and even very good games will suffer against high expectations.

Eh thanks for those who gave honest and mature replies. For those who didn't, well, you make me laugh on the inside ;D.

Anyways, I think one of the previous posters hit the nail on the head when he said that this game is not for everyone, and that the MMORPG community is hungering for a new MMO to play. I know I am dieing for a good one to come out, and honestly, WAR was not for me, and it won't be for many people. Many will like it though, I'm sure it will sustain at least a decent population. Like I said though, to me it is lacking.

As for the graphics, I said before, they wouldn't be an issue if the gameplay didn't suck to me.

And finally, as for Vanguard, I'm not playing it at the moment because of the population issues. The game itself has made a huge turnaround though, and you would know if you tried it within the last couple of months. I was in CB for that as well, all the way til' the end. Anyways, this is not a VG post ;D.

Everyone is different and game experience can be very subjective.

However, your P.S. is B.S. This is definitely a game worth buying and most people with out extremely narrow expectations for an MMO will definitely get their money's worth. Most may even find it's a game worth investing many months in.

I'm no fanboy. I'm a veteran with well earned cynicism toward games in the genre. I can't promise you I will be playing six months from now, the only way to know an MMO will hold you long term is to play and see how it goes. However, this game has none of the warning signs and glaring flaws that tell you it's a lost cause.

Playstyle is personal and how well a game matches your playstyle is very subjective. With the depth of content and the bredth of options for what you do with your ingame time, many people will find this to be a game that can provide compelling playtime beyond the first month.

My only disappointment is the seriously lacking crafting in game. I hope that will change over time. For me, it's just one less option for where I can spend my efforts. For some the lack of crafting will be a mojor detriment and for others it just won't matter at all.

I believe its recently been shown at gamingconventions at the high end and willbe shown high end at this years Games Days in Birmingham, Games Workshops big yearly gaming convention

You're so right its not even funny. I think a lot of "Beta Testers" are just trying to get a free play out of the game.  I will be in OB the 7th but I will be on the bug hunt and If I end up liking the game I will buy it. MMO's are complex and there are so many things that can go wrong and with people just using beta to see if they like the game, Its  no wonder games are being released like crap.Im trying to step into the gaming industry as a tester, I wish I could have been in the CB of this game but I guess OB will have to do. 

But in a beta I have a philosophy, expect the worst and hope for the best, that way you don't get as disappointed if it is bad. But if their is a disappointment  you should give some feedback to the developers. Tell them what you like and what you don't like and help make the game better.

There is very little depth to the game, I agree on that. It is meant for PvP honestly. With just a bit of PvE to keep it interesting.

The game really requires a guild to be played correctly. You can get all the stuff done and not miss out on pq and such without one. I just imagine this game to be tons o fun with a proper guild.

Once again, graphics would not be an issue if the gameplay was enjoyable, as I have said many, many times.

well we would know not to listen to you,. you would recommend vanguard, a game that failed tremedously with no population left. a none recommendation for a game still in beta and not even out. yeah we really are gonna listen to you brother.

im the biggest WAR fanboy on this board. who cares what you all think. i played it and thought it was the greatest thing.  therefore i made my opinion. i dont let people influence what i think are do through internet post. but vanguard...come on now, lol.

stating things the way you do makes you look like a hater.  combat has already been discussed, and mythic has said they are addressing it.  mythic is not funcom.  one thing about mythic is that you get exactly what they say you are getting. nothing more nothing less.  however, everyone is entitled to there own oppinion. i found the combat to be more interesting the higher level i got just like in any other game.  it's pretty simple though. WAR may not be your game.  i hope you find a game that lives up to what you are looking for goodluck
