A lot of people who liked WoW are burnt out on it by now. I enjoyed the game a lot, but It's just gotten old. WAR offers a fresh environment, a new world to explore and new mechanics to master. You can't judge the long term appeal of a game based on a preview weekend (AoC proved that), but I'm at least encouraged by what I've seen. WAR is a compelling game, with a cool environment, interesting classes and plenty to do. (In spite of the stresson this being a PvP game, I've also found the PvE content very satisfying). WoW has had years to polish and flesh out the game. I envy new MMO players coming to WoW for the first time, because if you like they style of play and environment, there is enough there to keep you happy for a long time. For people who didn't like WoW, or who have just burnt out on it, WAR seems to offer a compelling alternative. |

Wow is the most group oriented MMO I have ever played. Tell me any other MMO that focuses more on grouping than wow. Just because you can choose to level to 70 solo doesn't mean there is no support for grouping. Wow just allows you to solo instead if you want to. |

I played WAR over the preview weekend and will definately spend the next few months playing it while I wait for WoTLK. Reasons? 1) WAR is a very nice game - it is not as good as WOW in any apsect except RVR/PVPt, there is no doubt - but it is new and fresh and ive been playing WOW for 3 years. 2) I will no doubt continue with WOW when WoTLK comes out - but that being said, I have enough money to pay for both WAR and WOW if WAR has enough staying power to make me interested beyond 2 months of play.

You just defined what I consider a solo game. If you like solo games, hey, that's fine with me. I don't like solo games. There will be many objectives in WAR that cannot be accomplished solo. I don't think one player is going to be taking a capital city by his or her self. |

haha.. look at the fans fight! getting nowhere, but fighting like they have the power to change something.. I think I should join in... WoW will no longer be the "undisputed" king of mmo's.. As in the words of street fighter..

Meaningful professions do not match the entire conception of the game. About WAR you are right that the only advantage is PvP, but at least its here and is great. WoW do not have even a real PvP, but just multiplayer arena and BGs. Even DOTA is better than them, but at least its free. PS: If understand that you are not WoW fanboy, then that mean that you are pure MMO amateur. |

“Game Experience May Change During Online Play” is about ESRB ratings, not changing game content! |

The one big problem I had with WoW was my work schedule. I never could find a guild that raided when I had the time. So that left me with a lot of game content I could never experience. According to the article in PCgamer War will only have 6 man raids and wings that take 90-120 minutes to run. This should allow me to be able to experience everything in the game here.

You failed to mention the bug free UI and stuff of WoW that actually made it stand out from other mmo's..TRUST me, WoW is NOTHING new other than its presentation, which is FLAWLESS.. but you seem to think it is the best in other things when it clearly is not.. WARHAMMER is different monster than WoW... It's a pvp game really.. The world is a DYNAMIC place where things can change with keeps and all, so while its zone based things can be CHANGED.. Warhammer isn't about economy and pve.. get over it.. |

^ I agree with that! I've played WOW and WAR, and there is no comparison! |

I love how the OP goes WAR has nothing on WoW except for RvR. Well since WAR is a 100% RvR game isn't that kind of saying WAR has nothing on WoW except WAR? RvR > WoW PvP Public quests > 5 man instances WAR IP > WoW IP (the original is usually better than the clone) Say what you want...the day of reckoning is coming |

I've played a lot of MMO's, my first being Horizons when it was first released. It took me a year or so after WOW was released to finally try it. WOW is probably the most polished as far as animation (character, mobs, NPC etc) that I have seen in any game thus far. The little things they done like making it so you can see their breath in the cold areas, footprints in the snow etc gave the game a feel that others hadn't had. It still is one of the most fun games to play as long as I'm just leveling a character. But once you reach level 70, all the fun goes away IMHO. WOW has no "REAL" PVP .. BG's or being PK'd over and over in noob zones is not PVP. The end game is all about "GRINDING FOR GEAR!" be it in dungeons or BG's & Arena's I actually think the expansion ruined WOW more than it helped. I liked it much better before that but even then it had no real PVP value just fun questing to me. WAR offers "REAL" PVP .. with meaning ... thats enough for me to leave in and of its self. Also the fact that I hear that "GEAR" isnt as big a deal in WAR as it is in WOW, before expansion in WOW you could win based on skill and not what the other person had. Now with ARENA and all the GEAR driven raids etc, a person can just win because of the gear they have and the gear you lack. I could go on about other things, but thats the main reason I'm leaving WOW for WAR .. I left WOW For AOC, very disappointing .. Tried EQ2, Vanguard, and all because WOW just doesn't have what it is to keep me paying to play their game, if all you are into is PVE and Raiding for gear, then it might be the best game out there; just isn't enough for me.

I think the big reasons are just people being tired of playing WOW because it's been out so long, and the RVR is better than WoW's PVP. |

Pretty close to what I would say, too. WAR may turn into a treadmill of sorts, but WoW is already there. It's been there. WoW needs 'more' to keep me interested. I haven't seen anything major in a long time.

I agree that the newness has worn off of WoW. Although they will add more flavor with the DK's quests, I just get bored faster with the new content. Most people I know are ready to leave WoW, but they are just waiting for a decent MMO. I hope WAR lives up to what I think it will be. |

I got bored with WOW and endless grind... I want success for WAR. I hope that WOW will improve. FFS it is in ours best interest that there is more than one multi-milion user MMORPG on the market!!!! Too bad that AoC failed... Good competition will force software companies to fight for us, and WE (customers) will gain from that... EVERY successful game will push our standards a bit higher. And they will have to put more effort to please us at the end. Instead of stupid forum trolling and flaming, we should put more pressure at them (companies) as a gaming community, and make them work hard for our money... Hope to see some of you at the broken gates of Inevitable City in September |

Well, i left WoW after the first 15 days, it was all about quests and PvE; it was before the BC. I bought this expansion to play with some friends and give it another try, but.... It was the same large huge horrible PvE grinding; nothing interesting. Since SWG was ruined by NGE nothing really new came, except for Vanguard, which problem was the bad launch, but I think it will be re-launched and become a Big One, as it presents many features that I missed since I left UO *a bad move*. I'm going to WAR because is a good game, it has a splendid IP and background, gameplay is awesome and can have PvP/RvR for hours. I've spent whole days taking, loosing and re-taking Praag. Definitely, WAR is better than WoW, except if you love intense long term repetitive PvE, then WoW is your game. But not mine.
