Never to early to speculate.

We know they are leaving the option open for more races with an exansion, in fact they all but hinted at it.
There be two new ones from the WARHAMMER lore.

Heres where you can speculate which ones they will be.

The vampire counts seem to be popular as far as the IP goes, and would make a good chaos race. Then theres the Wood Elves and Bretonians, which are much better looking than their High Elf and Empire cousins. Finally the Skaven are definately going to play a role in the game some how.

I was surprised skaven didn't make the original game so that would be my first vote.

i remember that they weren't going to include vamps... ever. They have been included in the game at NPC controlled keeps.

Gotta love flat humour /groan

I mean where someone 'all but hints' about extra races and links to the races themselves. Not everyone here is a tabletop fan.

Well, the official warhammer site had podcasts about the devs talking about the possible future of the game.  With so much lore to pick and choose from, it wouldn't suprise me if they put in whole new races.  They didn't say anything specific but they said it's a definite possibility. 

As for races, you can check out the games workshop website.

Well this is what we know "Both the cities and other classes will come in as a free content patch. While the other cities are not in they are being worked on. Tweaking the goods and bads and seeing how it works with Altdorf and the Inevitable city. However you can expect 2 new races from an expansion but not the cities or classes."

Two new races are hinted at, not promised, but Mythic has been hinting at taking the IP even further.

I can see Vampire Counts, Skaven and Tomb Kings being the basis for "Darkness Falls" type dungeons.

Any expansion is likely to eventually encompass other regions of the warhammer world, like Sylvania, Nekkaharra and maybe as far as the far eastern region associated with chaos (forget what the name is offhand and cba to look it up).

Future player races possible may be lizardmen, chaos beastmen, dogs of war, ogres.

Skaven would be fantastic, if they were to make one clan available per side as mirror races. Other than that as stated a few months ago skaven are more of an infestation and a threat to everyone. (The only reason they dont dominate the planet is due to their clan conflicts and subterfuge).

Thats nothing ..in the 2nd expac there are releasing breakdancing stand-offs in some zones and also Paris Hilton and that other famous for no reason girl will be hosting there reality TV show "the Simple life"in the game.
