WAR will kill WoW.

No, no leach players... no, not hurt it... just plain kill it... in 1 year.  WAR will be the most played MMO in the occident.

I thought WAR would not be able to beat WoW beacuase, imo, most of the MMO population doesn't like PvP.  And, after all, RvR is PvP.  I thought WAR, in the best case, could reach 1 million players, becoming the second most played MMO.  And in the worst case, it would have like 200-400k

But after seeing AoC still have 400k (onyl God knows how) and after seeing all these WoW trolls that come here desperated to bash WAR... I am starting to think this is like when animals perceive an apocalyptic event is coming. 

I believe the WoW fanbois feel the end is near.

They are experimenting the five steps of Gried.  Denial the truth about WAR.  Some are already in anger (trolling and even lying).  Soon we will see them bargaining.  Then they will get depressed and, finally, they will accept the truth and buy WAR.

Don't worry, WoW fanbois, we will always accept you all... you wont have to create new MMO accounts to post in here (hiding the you convert yourself).  We understand your frustration.  Your game suck big time and it lacks of PvP (anyone thinking WoW has PvP should go to see a shrink).  We will create some program to recover you all.  Maybe we will call it "How to have fun without pve raiding for 36 hours?".

The only serious thing I will say in this post to the people coming to these forums looking for truth facts: try the game and see for yourself, if you like it or not.  If you like it, play it.  If not, don't.  All the rest discussed here are just opinions.

easy in NA and europe subs. Because? Warhammer is popular in those two areas and the game is really fun and beats the shit out wow. People will see that warhammer will be a great game.

Only reason wow will survive is.. Asia! reason because. Warcraft is powerful in Asia. All there subs come from Asia. Wow and starcraft were made for the asia people. They don't know what warhammer is and will never know because there hook on it.

They have game shows for starcraft that's why there making the game better for them.

I disagree. The combat is so bad in WAR I don't see it succeeding at all.

I totally agree with you, PureChaos, I like to have many options (options = many good MMOs).  But it's too late... the end of WoW is coming!!!  It's out of our hands.  I swear we will prevent it, if we could.  ;)   hehehe

I'm not a fanboy of wow by any means but I've heard this same tired stuff for years now every time a game comes out. WoW isn't going anywhere any time soon they have an expansion due out sometime soon so they are not running in fear. There are plenty of MMO players out there to support both games. WoW does not have to shut down to make way for another game. If this game is good it will do well no matter what WoW does or doesn't do. I think this game will be kind of like conan. Big sales up front with all the hype but probably not keep the majority of them. I really like the look of the game and the design but I can't really get past the slow and somewhat clumsy combat that seems to just be a massive zerg in pvp. I'm sure it gets alot more involved later in the game but it still feels very scripted.

  TBH, Nothing will 'kill' wow.  There are too many addicts, who will not leave that game for anything.  That and that, 'fun, happiness, love, peace' crap means that a lot of people who would never play an MMO except for wow, will continue playing wow and would never in a million years look at war.  I want war to succeed and I have it pre-ordered myself.  I just think it's kind of funny when people say War will kill wow, when wow has been catering to the masses for almost 4 years, and Warhammer will be catering to PVP and MMO junkies.  Sorry, but theirs many less of those.  I think War could easily smash up AoC more then Funcom has already, because it's catering to the same crowd and by all accounts is a lot better and more polished even in the closed beta.   I thought this when AoC came out too, same with LOTRO, and most future released of MMO's that seem to be coming, if your goal is to compete with WoW then you will have to make a game that is watered down, doesn't really do anything new, but does a lot of things right and focuses on what the masses want. 

I'm not trying to take anything away from warhammer, by all respects it looks like a pretty damn good game.  I just don't think it will have the mass appeal that wow has had.

I think it will Kill WoW because its the evolutinary step from wow. WoW may be great but its fricking old and you cant just keep playing that forever.

WaR will hurt WoW's numbers theres no dispute over that,whats really gonna hurt WoW though in the asian market is the release of Aion.

In my view WoW is already dead,the only reason people still play it is they have so much time and energy invested in their toons that are extremely hard pressed to let it go.Although the gold sellers is almost enough to make you quit.

It's something akin to that of Lineage 1.

The definiative WoW killer though is WoW 2

WAR will not kill WoW, and it doesn't have to to be considered a success. There's room for more than one dominating MMO in this market, and with three really promising games on the horizon (WAR/TCOS/AION) people will begin to see the benefit of having more than one titan vying for customers. Things can only go up from here!

Noone's saying it's the end of WoW, hell many on these boards say that any game is dead just beacuse they don't have high sub numbers. All most of us are saying is that WoW's days of popularity are now numbered. There have been numerous people to leave the game and many, many more looking for something fresh, and nothing is more fresh than blood on a Warhammer battlefield. So come on, feel the WAAAAGH!!!!!

Coming from the Generation X line, I would have to agree.

Generation Y is all about Xbox 360 and PS3, PSP and Wii.. Yeah you got some that play PC games, but those kids are in the minority, but some are very skilled.

WAR will not kill WoW anytime soon.

The pve in WAR is lacking, classes are far to generic, and the game lacks side content beyond the tome of knowledge.

WoW has had alot of time to polish as well, and has tons of working content in it. WAR is new, and will take time. Not to mention WoW's next expansion is just over the horizon which is gonna keep their players hooked for some time.

This is all my opinion of course, not to mention I don't like either games :P

I believe this game isn't all great and neither is WoW. Nobody gives games a chance (I played the WAR beta and I don't like it I gave it my chance). AoC I gave a chance it was a good game until the patching system went down the drain and broke every single thing. The only two games I have hopes for is Stargate Worlds and the to be Announced still Star Wars MMO.

Dude ,thats the worst you can say about AoC is some log-in server stability issue? How about 80% of the game is instanced?  Noob MMO'rs ,when you guys gonna get some better taste?
