I am not a Warhammer follower, so sorry if i get my info wrong, just a quick question, I am really trying to understand this game before i make a decision on whether or not i will purchase and play Warhammer.

Can anyone explain what the end game is? Like what is the purpose, is it to capture and destroy your enemies city? Then what? Do you just do the same thing over and over and over, like that is the end game? to keep on destroying your enemies city?

The End Game is RVR battles.  The end game is not acquiring loot to show off, etc.  It's advancing in level and RVR level, skilling your character properly, and decimating others with it.  Rewards are appropriate for accomplishment earned.

Sure beats Raiding NPC stuff thats identical for hours every other day.

What is the point of life?

That's an equally as valid question

Too weird to live, and too rare to die

Ultimately, the end game for WAR is similar to the end game for WoW, it is just the method that is different.

In WoW, the motivation is better loot, bigger raids, and a higher arena rating.

In WAR, the motivation is better loot, zone control, and a higher renown rank.

Basically, both games have a mechanism for ensuring one is always striving for something and always bettering oneself. Neither is better than the other, just different.

WoW is more for individual/guild achievement, and quite a bit more loot-based, and obviously based more in PvE. WAR is more about guild/realm achievement, less loot-based, and based more in RvR.

Pick yor poison. Either you raid instances over and over or you siege cities over and over. Every MMORPG needs to have some repetitive source of advancement, and you have to choose the one you enjoy most.

Yeah, Netzoko said a lot in just a few words. Why do you people even bother to make these threads? What is the point of the game? To escape reality, to have fun, to be entertained, to spend time with friends, to pass the time, or maybe to release some frustration. There are many more reasons but those should start to spark the imagination.

What do you expect? It to satisfy every psychological need you have? To be exactly like WoW and have a progression raiding system? They designed WAR to be fun, easy to play, and to have large RvR battles. If you expect it to cure cancer and fulfill all your emotional needs, you are definitely going to be let down.

Some people play RPG games like a nintento 8bits  game  with 70 levels.  To "beat" these games.

But thats assisine for a RPG game (other than Dungeon Siege).  Because on a RPG game you are a character, is the fun is more about roleplaying than fighting.    This mean If you are rushing, and not having fun, you are doing it wrong.

And about WAR.

Theres war, always has ben war. Is a constant.

Your ultimate goal is to sack the enemy's capital, and if you succeed, all the Tiers reset to neutral.

However, don't go around thinking you can do this weekly.

It'll take a better part of 3-4 months probably before you can do it, if the two sides are even or close to it. You have to capture and hold 2 out of 3 massive Tier 4 fortresses before you can sack the city, and that's a feat in itself. So the goal won't be easy to reach, thus making it more rewarding when you succeed.

Wow glorifies pve play. War glorifies the pvp players. If you love kicking the snot out of the opposing faction you will love War. I loved AV in wow ( i wish you could lvl just playing pvp) but it awards you with second rate gear. So for me war is a better fit.

To me the end game is about having fun. With WAR I will do that through RvR.

End game is still under NDA so can't help you with specifics but its kind of the sum of everything that came before.

Congrats.  You are part of the minority on this forum that actually seems to get why we play video games.

What is the point of Call of Duty 4?  What is the point of Madden 09'?  Seriously i think a lot of posters here play mmos and completely forget to have fun in the process.  It boggles the mind.

Is because the "persistent" bit.   I used to be a social drinker, and getting drink was fun. Not always, almost like  9 / 10  where boring, but that one  1 / 10 make for the others.   And this why people "work" for mmo's.  For these days that are soo god that make for the others.

Seem a lot better than raiding the same instance 100 times.

they never said 3 to 4 weeks, they said it would be a huge undertaking. Every post from you about war is negative. why waste your time on the game if you don't like it. You should be more productive instead of wasting energy on a game you're probably not going to play.

You will get rewards and stuff for your success. The the award will also being victorious...its a good feeling. But most people are so caught up in the grind for gear.

I know its not a mmorpg. But Red Orchestra for example...theres no gear, levels, rewards. People who play that game try so hard to win battles. Just for the sake of victory. It feels good.

I didnt play it (the end game... the tier 4) so all what I am about to say is my own speculations: the end game is all about killing the bastages enemies, taking their city, burn it to the grounds, kill their leaders NPC and the common and usual razing, destroying, etc, etc, etc you will do if you were trully you character in real life.

Of course, I play destruction... maybe Order will bring love and peace to us, if we lose our fortress and cities.

And after burned their houses and cut their heads off, you keep doing it... until they do that to you and the beatiful circle of PvP repeats (after all that's PvP... a constant fight against someone else for the love of a good combat or for winning and dancing over their dead corpses).

Imagine a game as DFO promises to be (a sand box)... it has no end game (not in the sense WAR and the other lvl based MMOs have)... but after you conquer all your enemies, destroyed their cities, etc, etc... what will you do?  Sit in a throne like Conan, declare yourself king of the world and then... shut down your computer?

You could say in a sandbox you will never be able to conquer all your enemies. Well, first, prove you can conquer them in WAR!  And, second, eventually your enemy will regain control of his city and chase you to your city in WAR too.  You wont be able to erradicte them for good!

While a sandbox doesnt define you necessary an end game and you have to create your own end game.  A MMO like WAR defines it: a constant war to kill once and again the enemy.

I started MMOs at UO and when I started playing DAoC I wasnt sure I would like it... DAoC is the same as here... just a constant fight (you fight for the control of flags but the truth is that you fight for killing the other).  I found myself loving it!

Once you have their city you will be able to do some PQs (Raids) in it.  But that's like a plus :)

Trying to resume after the wall of text I just create: the end game is a constant battle, nothing more and nothing else.

Amen to that.

Keep in mind RvR, like any PvP,  is always different.   Even if you're fighting over the same city, the fight will be different each and every time.

And also keep in mind as the game progresses people will be unlocking new Tactics and Masteries.   People will develop new strategies and you're side will need to come up with new counters to them.

That sounds much more enjoyable than running the same Instance over and over.

So was it lacking or just the same thing at the end as at lower levels?

No, it doesn't. These threads are pointless. (No pun intended)
