the art on the weapons is GREAT dont get me wrong....but there are only 2 different looks per tier for weapons. So for example

You will have a 1hand axe you start the game with you will upgrade it about 4-5 times with diffierent axes *STAT* wise but looks exactly the same

Until you get to lv 8 then you get another axe that you upgrade 4-5 times *stat* wise until lv 12

repeat repeat

So everyone will have the same *EXACT* weapons within any given teir given the same exact level charater.  Doesnt matter if its PvE,PQ, or RvR gear. it will have the same *EXACT* look no matter how many different axes you loot

the armor works exactly the same but you have Dyes and trophies so its slighty forgiven...

However the weapons? WaR is the exact opposite to AoC !

AoC: brown sack armor but great weapons

WaR: cool custom armor but constantly repeated weapon models

just FYI, thats not what itemization means.  An example of poor itemization would be, for example, cloth items constantly dropping that give bonuses to Strength and heavy armor pieces giving bonuses to mana.  Basically items that are restricted to certain classes yet give bonuses to the classes theyre restricted from.  OR items that can be used but give bonuses to classes that would never use such items.  Since quest rewards, RvR rewards generate specifically for the class you're playing, WAR has excellent itemization.

I do see your point and I agree with you.  I suggest anyone who feels this way to use the "feedback" button in-game and tell them that you dont feel theres enough variety in the way gear looks.  Ive sent feedback on this numerous times that there just isnt enough variety in the way gear looks.  That combined with the lack of crafting spheres is its achiles heal for me.

The early weapon models are not important and I bet you have not seen the later, rare ones.

well im currently lv 26  playing on Gorfang im taking i break but im gonna try to get lv 30 ish before the day is over.

im sure there are better weapon models...but why do i have to wait till lv 40 *JUST* to simply look different than the other hundred chosen players running around?

the entire game is important NOT just the end game

I dunno, if they don't have final graphics in the game yet they could be holding off on all the weapon skins/textures so the downloads for the beta aren't massively huge. It seems like they'd have more weapon variety, but I was never one for giant oversized multicolored rediculously designed swords anyways.

The loot tables and items in general need some work thats all ready been identified by Mythic. I would guess they want to get class balance to a certain point before introducing balance changing gear. I have seen some of the level 40 gear and it is not to shabby looking but it needed work on the stats. I am sure this will get fixed soon.

They stated that there are roughly 20 different armor sets per class. With 20 classes thats about 400 different sets of armor. Even if there were only 1 different style of weapon every 5 levels for each class, thats still 160 different styles of weapons total.

There are drops that have glowly effects and whatnot, which might add to the distinguishing factor. I think since it's easier to create 1 new style of weapon rather than create 1 new entire set of armor, we should be ok. If lack of weapon customization is an issue, I think thats actually an easy fix.

Lol you definetly haven't played any other mmo's then. Even wow is like that, Ok you can get alot of different weapons but they all look the same... it doesn't mean you can have the looks of a dagger, that you class has any use of it. The only difference between this game and other mmo's is that you only get like 2-3 different weapons for your class. in other mmo's you can use all kind of weapons but most of them are useless for your class.

Well on my Chosen which I got to level 11 I had used 5 different weapons with distinct different looks throughout his lifetime.

With a Sorc which isn't as weapon based I used 3.

With a With Hunter I used 4 and they were way different.

With a Warrior Priest I used 3 and they were small variations.

With a Squig Herder the bow wasn't too different.

I thought the weapon differentiations were great.  This isn't an item based game though and it has always been that way.  I had more differentiation in weapons from 1-10 than I did in AoC from 1-70.
