We need answers if anyone has the real truth out there. Does WAR use auto attack where you swing over and over again with only one click?? Does WAR have Auto Aim where you follow the target after you start attacking? Does WAR have any Line of Sight checks at all?? Are you required to actually strike your target to give damage?? Can you Damage without being near your target? Do you have to face your target to hit it? Can you run away from your target and still do damage?
Anything else you can add about the actual fighting system please do. |

If you have played eq or wow it's pretty much the same from what I can gather. Edit: Except it has collision detection so you can't run through people. |

Just to add a comment the GCD is 1.5 seconds not 2 seconds. They just cannot display decimals on the UI yet. |

ah that makes sense. It did feel like i wasn't really waiting 2 seconds per skill, but I attributed that to lag (which has been pretty bad). |

Ok so far so good. I guess I should have broke it down to ranged and melee as some questions are one or the other. If you want to break down ranged, magic and melee please do that might help people understand alittle better.

Melee - I've tried Chosen, Witch Elf, DoK Chosen (tank) has curses that affect anyone near him (enemies negatively, teammates positively). Get in the middle of things, throw out some small hits, take some damage, try to trip people up and stop them from getting to your healers/dders. I played it more like I was a damage dealer though (was my first character) with some success. Witch Elf plays like WoW's rogue. Has some nice damage and dots. DoK feels like it might be a bit overpowered atm, but again not sure about end game. Plays like a slightly gimped damage dealer (more dmg than tanks though) and has some great heals. They have a pool of soul points (or something to that extent) that they use for heals which gets filled up with their damage dealing skills (or fills up naturally when out of combat). Ranged - I've tried Shadow Warrior Shadow Warrior is my favorite so far. I've gotten 3 stances - one that focused on long range attacks, one that focses on melee fighting, and (the most interesting imo) one that focuses on mid range skirmishing. So I'll start out in long range stance and start hammering someone with skills (damage skills for squishy chars, slow spell + armor reducing for tanks that are charging me). If they charge me, I'll switch to skirmish stance when they get close enough, throw on a dot, and start running away while shooting the only skirmish skill I have - basically all the non-skirmish bow shots require you to stand still (unless they're instant cast), so when you switch into skirmish you gain access to skills that you can use on the move. Really fun any interesting deciding what to use when. Ranged Magic - I've tried Bright Wizard. Bright Wizard will be one of my favorites when I get into a teamwork using guild. Right now in pugs, it's kind of difficult and I'm really a glass cannon, and people seem to know that and come for me. They put out some serious damage though and as they do more damage their combustion meter fills up. As it gets higher (0-100, 100 being highest), you gain chance to hit, crit, etc (not sure exactly) but also gain the chance for it to backfire on you. I've found myself dealing out some amazing damage only to almost kill myself from not paying attention. You can drop all your combustion in a spell that emptys it kind of like a WoW rogue's finishing move would. |
