WAR fanbois and WoW haters its best not to read this I am an unashammed WoW player, been playing WoW for 3 years and all the WC RTS game. What I am saying is it will take a lot to take me away from WoW. Previous played MMO's AO, CoX and EQ1. Ok I have been in WAR beta for about 6 months, I have probably only put in about 30 hours of play in that time mostly PvP time. Played a Squib hearder and engi. No other classes interested me. I only realy put some play time in after a patch or update but very quickly become bored and log out till the next patch as neither update seemed to address my concerns. WAR is apparently all about PvP so that is what I have been playing in beta and what I am commenting on here. Bare in mind what I am talking about is from the last Beta patch and the video below as capture on the 20th auguest 2008. I picked my engi and joined a scenario. Video here: http://files.filefront.com/war+0001wmv/;11582957;/fileinfo.html (stream and hi-def 100mb download) If you watch the video you will note its very choppy when there are many players on screen the animations become very ugly and choppy and also toons tend to warp around the place. I was constantly being hit by some one yet the only real indication of my health dropping was the odd partical effect or an ork in my face. It needs much more visual/audio feedback, in WoW my toon flinches, dodges, parries and so on.. all good feedback to me. In a way there were too many partical effects and sound effects going off and it just became a mush. Often my UI actions where delayed or out of sync, I have read mythic has release a patch to fix this. Toon control is fine, if you have played WOW you could map your WOW keys the same way in WAR and feel right at home. The UI is functional and standard fair. The act of PvPing in WAR was nice and chaotic so theres huge potential, but right now WoW feels smoother more responsive and just more fun all round... So I'll be sticking with WoW. I will probably pick up WAR at release in hopes my issues are resolved. Atleast I wont be buying a vanguard |

Your PC is almost identical to mine and I don't get noticable lag in 24vs24 type situations. Not sure what else to say. WoW most certainly is going to be more polished than WAR though, if you are happy with WoW nothing wrong with staying with WoW. Most people are just bored to death with WoW at this point. |

If you played EQ1 then you should know that if you get alot of people fighting in an area that you have to turn down/off the partical effects......I didnt play beta so maybe there is no way to do this in Warhammer but it is something you have to have, especially in a pvp game. |

RvR lag is really bad in certain spots on the servers that CE and preview weekend players have access too. But it has improved a LOT, and they're still making improvements.
Last night in Nordland, i had 0 lag on Skull Throne, and there must have been 100 people there. As a WoW player myself since release, the PvP in Warhammer is eons better than WoW. The PvE still needs work, but it's off to a very good start. A lof of things we haven't seen yet as well, like Lairs. |

To start you are VERY BAD at RvR. I played WoW for a long time, and i've been in WAR beta since last July. I've seen this game transform like crazy, and alway's for the better. I don't know how you lag, and I don't with that many people on the screen. I have an amd 6400 - 2gigs of ram - 8800gts 320mb and i can be in 24v24 situations with no lag like you say you are experiencing. Also remember.. ITS BETA STILL, there are no graphics adjustments, or anything of that type, and of course the game isnt 100% polished like they want it to be for release. In the video you are very terrible at controlling the camera, movements, and just about everything else.. so really
