The first 10-15 levels are pretty much designed for solo play. Thats the way it is. Also keep in mind that there are numerous starting regions scattered throughout the world, so the starting population is scattered. That will be largely rectified with the new starting island, where all newcomers will start in the same zone, and then move onto their racial areas. Once you get into your mid-teens or early 20s, you will be moving onto larger quest hubs, where you will find plenty of other players your level. Veskal's exchange and Renton Keep in Thestra are prime examples. Skrillien point is another example in Quaila. |

Well for better or for worse VG is designed such that it feels emptier then most games. On seradon for example I've seen 1500+ players online at peak on that server. Did you know that that is a larger number then the average wow server has at peak? So where are all the people? VG is designed kinda like a pyramid. At lowest level there are many areas people are spead out over. As you level up you get funneled into fewer areas and you start seeing more people. From lvl 1-10 if you are in some of the more obscure starting areas you might not see anyone or just a person or two passing by. As you move up to the second tier areas at lvl 10-15 or so you will start seeing people. Plus around lvl 15-20 you will start finding more group oriented quests and the rift stones that will allow you to get around. The LFG tool is your friend. Turn on lfg and you can get an invite. Using the rift stones and rentable mounts you can really go anywhere in the world pretty quickly. What about /ooc ? Well one thing about geting groups with /ooc is you need to know that ooc is limited to continents. So if you go /ooc "lvl 17 warrior lfg in kojan you will only be heard by people in kojan. Unfortunately Kojan is one of the less popular continents because there are fewer starting areas there and it maxes out around lvl 20 or so. So hope over the thestra or qalia. A really popular dungeon at lvl 15 is KE in thestra. Great dungeon experience and lots of fun. a good link to keep handy is www.whitetalon.com/dungeonfinder2/default.aspx this will let you see where dungeons are and give you an idea what areas are good for you at various levels. In the 20s there is a great quest series that is popular in kojan tomb of lord tsang. in mid 20s trengal keep (tk) in thestra or in qalia hunters league quests or coterie infinum quest line (cis) are all very popular. Here is another handy link wiki.silkyvenom.com/index.php/Level_Guide |

I think I just don't want to lv in a new game. I am going to play WAR when it comes out. I am a true hater of leveling in any game. I was in WoW from day one and only lv 2 alts. |

Thats funny bro i played WoW for about 2 years on and off. I only had my main. I tryed to level alts i just couldn't do it.I dont know how people can have alts when they have to play through the same content to level up. Ive actually been thinking about getting the station pass just for the 4 extra character slots for vanguard, but i dont want sony to think i like there other games because i wouldnt pay 1 cent to play any of them. But vanguard even if they double the sub all still be there I cant believe how much vanguard has changed how i play my MMO's. Before i would'nt play anything but a rogue i never rolled an alt in any game and i wouldn't play a caster if my life depended on it. Now am an altaholic, my favorite classes are healers for me vanguard is without a doubt the best game out there by far. I may stop for a few months for a break but vanguard will still get my money. You still have to level in War you know, have fun on your linear little path to whatever max level is in War |

Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game... I would much rather have fun. |
Originally posted by ethion Thank you for the information. Like WoW, Vanguard is impossible for me to comprehend (scale-wise). A layout like the one you've given makes things much simpler and easier to digest. I swear, I've been playing Vanguard for a month now, and I've barely scratched the surface. The one thing I can consistently say I hate about Vanguard is that the player isn't given a course of action, you're thrown in to do what you want. I like it, but I don't. I love that I can do what I want, but I hate those times where I don't know what I want to do...I usually log off when that happens. To the OP. Either quit playing MMOs, or ask if anyone would like to group up. Vanguard's a great game, and I am never short on finding people doing something. I usually solo, but when I need help, /1 (what you want to say) is your friend. Another nice thing about Vanguard, no idiots play. In a month of playing I've not met a single asshole in the game. Good luck on WoW2, well...WAR. |
