I'm really looking forward to play WAR. I'm a big fan of PvP (and RvR) and pretty sure WAR will deliver the gods :) But as always, sometimes it's nice to fall back to some regular PvE and Quests. So how good are the PvE/Quests compared I find the PvE/Quests in LOTR and WOW to be very good. I love the scripted quests that are fun and got a touch for humor. |

Here was my respose to a troll saying PvE was bad.
You don't need to spend days in PvP to do the bastion stairs dungeon, and the hidden vale, and the crypts below each city. which are 3 full T4 dungeons with bosses PQs and lots of loot. Although they do have a good amount of trash mobs but thats mythics style. and for T2 you have the sewers of altdorf and something else in Deso city(I play order). and then in T3 you have mount gunbad which is another dungeon. and those are just the dungeons which are already full of mobs and loot which couldn't be said for alot of games on release. There is also tons of PQs which IMO are not that interesting until T4 when they are more than just stupid kill a few mobs then kill some champs then kill a hero, although there is a few gems out in the lower tiers. Then you have the hundreds of quests in this game. ranging from the normal go to town and then go kill some things to the random help this wizard with a spell who then blows himself up and you just take his boots. and then there is the tome with all its unlocks that you can get just from exploring and trying to see everything, I don't remember a game where I randomly walked into the mountains to see a person sitting next to a book who then turned into a giant demon and attack me then I got an unlock from the book about the history and lore of said demon. and one last thing are lairs, they are not really finished yet but I have found one, they are really hard to find and you have to solve a puzzle to get into them. But like you said compared to other games their instances are lacking. not like WoW had any real raids on release. and you win, I'm sorry I called you a fanboy ------------------------------------------------- EKSA |

All 3 of the games you mentioned are focused in PvE unlike Warhammer. I'd suggest trying another game if you want a great PvE experience. But if you just want something to fill your time the PQs will do just that. |

I've been playing a Greenskin shaman, and I must say the quests are great... they were somewhat "humourous" right off the bat, so I actually read the quest text. I would say they are presented the same way as wow and lotro though, so I don't know if you could actually call them better... they don't seem as tedious I guess, that's a plus. The public quest system is amazing though, LOTS of fun. |

The PVE in all 3 of them games is wayyyyyy better than whats to offer in WAR. Pretty much in WAR from levels 1 - 40 of PVE you'll be doing quests like WOW has in it's starting zones. The only thing WAR has over the other mmorpgs is public quests which once you have max inf then theres no point doing them and they get boring after the 2nd time anyways. Really in WAR you'll wanna be leveling up on scenarios and RVR.

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG. |
I thought the PvE and PvP mix in DAoC was just right. The hard part is getting the PvP right, so if that's good in WAR, they can always add dungeons, and more PvE later. |

The quests are just like every other mmo quest. What I like about them is the tone, each race's quest has a different tone about them. They are basically kill this, deliver this, ect. But it feels warhammer esq.The quest lines can be humourous. Such as the time when I had to get ale for a bright wizard. At the end of the quest he drunk it and blew fire into a fire place. IDK, |

There is no rogue, but both a witchhunter and witch elf have stealth and attacks that are like backstabs. So yes, there are rogue style classes. |

The DK starting quests are just in another league of their own. The one where you need to hide in a mining cart, get taken to a ship and then bomb the hell out of the soldiers in the beach is just something else. |

Originally posted by Crusher The quests in War are really good! The writing is fantastic, and there are alot of those little scripted quests that make it all very interesting and fun to play. I did feel like it was a bit like questing in WoW, but it was the good kind of questing and much more to it. Like the PQs, this is such a great idea, and it really changes up the pace and makes the questing "grind" much more fun. With the fantastic LFG system they have the PQs work really well! The LFG system is awesome, the best I have ever seen, you can set your party to public LFM and it will say what public quest you are doing or wherever you are at, and people don't need to send you tells to invite, nor is there any annoying blind group invites. You just click join and you are in the party. Of course if you don't have to have a public group, you can have a private party if you don't want to deal with puggers. For folks that don't have other friends playing, this is really nice and eases them into the game very well. However, there is a fatal flaw: (right now) The problem with War is not the quests, it is the horrible mob AI. It has to be the worst AI of any premium game I've ever played. The mobs are so broken, they will just stand there for 10 seconds while you can unload all of your arrows/bullets/spells before they finally turn around and come after you. There is very little to no social mobs. You would think if you shoot a Dark Elf npc that is standing right next to his buddies that they would all come after you. Sadly, that is not the case, they just stand there. Just incredibly stupid monsters. It seems like if they are not part of some scripted event, every single mob is broken. Add to the fact that it is so incredibly easy and you get a pretty bad PvE experience, even with the great quest writing. That is the only game breaker IMO. But it is a big one. It will be hard for me to purchase this game if the AI issues are not resolved. Here is hoping they do get fixed, because besides that this game is alof of fun! |

I hate 99 percent of quests in any game. They are boring, unimaginative rehashes of the same stuff that has been going on for years. Once you've done them add nauseum it gets pretty stale. Mindless tedium to keep the sheep paying. I enjoyed the epic weapon quest in EQ 1. They were somewhat interesting and definitely a challenge. And the reward at the end made it all worthwhile. The only quest I enjoyed in WoW was one of the beginning quests where you ran into some orcs trying to take over some building. You followed them and did your thing. It was different so that's why I enjoyed it. Unfortunately every other quest in that stupid game is just like every other quest in every other mmo. If you've never played mmo's before then WoW I imagine could be fun. Otherwise it's just a lame repeat. WAR questing is no different from the other mmo's. Kill, gather, grind, run around and drink a gallon of coffee to try and keep your face from slamming into the keyboard out of pure boredom.
RvR is where fun begins. WAR wins because no other game comes close to that kind of fun factor.
