One thing I always loathed in PVP was lolcoptering. I hate it. Partially because I am an old sot, and no longer that nimble. Its nothing more itching me than people jump like they were on speed and giving me a headache. So my question: is that possible, or - hopefully - do you have to stand still to attack? And: is there an option for auto-turn towards your taget, or you do have to turn manually? Thanks in advance. |

Originally posted by Yunbei I played a lot of RvR today and I did not see any bubby-hopping, except when you had to jump over rocks and bushes and other stuff. The terrain has a lot of natural obstacles in which is perfect for just hiding slightly behind a rise, or behind a boulder or tree. There is a ton of running back and forth -- or else you will get steamrolled -- and a lot of strafing and circling, which is what the melee guys do and what casters do unless they want to get whacked by the melee guys. Movement, yes -- bunny-hopping, no. There is a lot of movement because the meleers can run and hit at the same time and many ranged attacks can also be done on the move. But it's cool because it makes the battles very fluid with a lot of charges and pushes and retreats. Also, there is collision detection so you can't pass through players as if they were ghosts. And you can't jump over them either -- well, not very easily. There is no /face command (I'll double-check on that) but I noticed that when my target was not behind me, but in a 180-degree arc in front of me, I would auto-turn and cast my nukes at enemies and my heals on friendlies in the proper direction. It worked pretty well for me.
