Age of Conan

Quit playing AoC less than a month after launch.  Have followed the game's progress, first hoping for improvement, then out of amusement.  Can't believe I got suckered by those shysters.

Anyway, from the postings you see on the official boards detailing server pops by search count, it seems that just about all of the servers have less than 400 people playing during primetime.  I am including a recent post by Protus AoC of all people detailing his search results.

If you figure 40 servers x 400 people each (and I think I am being generous there) that is 16,000 players on during prime time.

I have read that as a general rule rougly 10% of active subscribers are on during primetime.  Again this sounds terribly low to me especially for a newer game.

10% of 160,000 is 16,000. 

That is how I figure AoC has about 150k active subscribers 3 months after release.

Given the hype, AoC is without doubt the biggest flop in MMO history and I predict there will be less than 5 active servers by Spring.

Serves Funcom right for engaging in a willful and coordinated campaign of deception.  Hopefully this will send a message to other developers and improve the quality of other new releases.

And you misunderstood what you read. Those subs where as of June 30. So its what 55 days later at this point. "LOL"

Um, lol, I'm worth 100 billion dollars, beat Usain Bolt in a foot race last week and am currently dating 7 different super models.

If the game has 400k subscribers (another ridiculous lie from funcom) why do you have servers with one or two hundred people playing during primetime?  How does that possibly square with reality?

Stormrage server this morning:

Old Tarantia - 3 players
Keshetta - 5 players
Field of the dead - 6 players

And 19 Level 80s.

My bet is that there are servers with less than 10k players already, maybe even less than that. This game is dead, no need to dance around the fact in denial. My estimate is still October/November will either see massive server merging or the complete shutdown and bancupcy of Funcom.

150k active subscribers were active means they still logon seems pretty reasonable at this time. Those 400k announced are just accounts that still can play, most likely even if they have cancelled they will be counted as a subscriber until the paid time ends.
