"Tolerance is a sign of weakness."

I just can't believe this, I seriously can't.

How come a name like Gamestop, with stores all over the US, can suck that hard? I pre-ordered on the 14th August and started waiting to receive my bonus/OB keys via e-mail (I was told to wait up to 48 hours).

Then yesterday I noticed that the status of my purchase was "closed" - and wonder what? The website said that it had already shipped the Warhammer box to my shipping address!! And on the day before that I'm sure that I checked the website and the status indicated "open".

I decided to send them an e-mail asking about what had happened, because the game wasn't out yet and it couldn't have been shipped, and that I hadn't received my keys either.

Wonder what reply I got? "We had an issue on our system and can't process your order anymore. Purchases made on the website go through a rigorous verification to prevent fraud." What the fuck does that mean? That I'm trying to fraud? So they set the status of a game which is 20 days from release as SHIPPED and also never send me the codes?

I sent them another e-mail, asking for extra information and a better explanation. Wonder what? The reply was: "We had an issue on our system and can't process your order anymore. Purchases made on the website go through a rigorous verification to prevent fraud." Seriously, do I look like a fucking clown? I ask for more information and I get the EXACTLY same reply from the EXACTLY same customer service?

Congratulations GameStop for loosing one customer who used to spend more than 1000$ per year on games, and congratulations for costing Mythic 50$ (on just one particular case) for your seriousness while trying to make your customers look like clowns.

Go to Amazon they give your keys immediately through the My Media / Downloads section.

Gamestop sucks balls.

ordering games online when keys are needed, especially beta keys and the like is never an easy business. You should have just driven to the local game store.

actually gamestop is even WORSE if you go instore.  Half of their stores only focus on consoles making it hard to get pre order items for PC games.

Very true.....thing to do is call a couple stores and ask which area Gamestop specializes in PC games.   There is usually at least one or two in each area.  If they have no clue what you are talking about, hang up and call another one till you get someone with a lick of sense.

Not that I'm a particular fan of Gamestop, and that sure blows what happened to the OP.

I just walked into Gamestop one day and the guy handed me a CE preorder card.  I did not and still have not ordered Warhammer.  They dropped the ball in the exact same manner with Age of Conan preorders, and had me freaking out.  Suggestion:  Murder them.  Murder the whole chain of stores.  It will make you feel better.  Plus, when you get out of prison in 20 years for good behaviour, you can just go ahead and sign up for the WAR 12 beta test.

Damn that seriously sucks a dick...  I never order online from gamestop.  I did preorder by walking in the store, got my box with codes and card deck that ill never use and went home and set my account up.

But we have a good gamestop here where i live so im lucky. Besides im pretty well rounded with gaming so they can't sell me the bullshit most non gamer newbies get..

Amazon.com, half.com, buy.com are good places to do online ordering.. Direct 2 drive is ok but most games have issues with their versions and mod compatability, so i avoid them. I like to have a box in my hands that i can install and uninstall when ever i feel like it with out all the hoops.

The only reason I still have mine through gamestop is because its a CE. Said CE is fully paid for so if for some reason they screw that up and I dont get it I will contact a legal advisor. I'm sure there will be some law broken for selling me something they cannot deliver. I dont think that will happen though but I have learned through all this that its better to go to wallmart when I want a game or order from amazon. Sad though that a GAME retailer is being outlassed by places where games are just "there".

20 minutes after trying amazon I'm already with both codes and downloading the client, also managed to get some free minutes to delete my Gamestop account.

Thanks for the hint guys.

Its not the company its the tards they hire. ITs terrible. My gamestop is full of wanna be war fans. Its terrible hearing gape over things that were in the planning process months ago and arent even in the game.

You pre order the game there, they dont tell you about the card. I had to see a movie, went in, payed eighty bucks and left without asking for the card. I assumed they would have handed me one. A few weeks later I walk in and ask them whats up and they hand me the last code>.>. My little brother went in and the guy told him the se code is just the same and the ce edition code. Totally dumbass, screwed my brother out of ce beta experience.

I do have had no issues with Gamestop.

I've walked in, put my five bucks down for the pre-orded, asked for the card/box/free pre-order item, and walked out.  If they didn't have the pre-order stuff, I'd just walk out.  I'm sorry your gamestop.com expierence is bad.  I also don't trust most of the folks that work there (I remember there was an issue with gamestop employees keeping the pre-order items and tell the pre-order customers that all the items were gone)

Tells me they tried to process your CC and you didn't have enough money on it as you hoped to get your keys before they tried to bill you.  They usually don't bill till shipment day but decided to trick people and test them, hence the portion on fraud.  You probably left some of the original email out as well.  Just my 5 Canadian cents.

What kind of card did you use?

I have been told by EBGames and what not when ordering my copy that I should notify my bank there would be an initial hit on the account (they're checking card validity) and that some companies, like American Express will suspect it for fraudulent activities...ther are also some banks and some pre-paid debit card companies that do the same thing.  She said that it is not uncommon for these companies to cause the unfortunate event of order cancellation.

I used my Visa card which I always use for online purchases. Never had a problem with this card actually.

And amazon accepted it without any problem.

EDIT: The guy also sent another e-mail telling me to order from www.bn.com then. Haha.
