Dont really care about stock prices or hoping Funcom goes down in spite. Being a gamer i want games with possibilities to be better..

And it appears they are taking some drastic moves to implement pvp in order to save the sinking ship. In my opinion good moves. Today on test server they implemented across the board gem nerfs much like the nerf to invul gems. This is a plus for non gear based pvp. But to be honest a kick in the nuts for pvers as raids are still quite dependent on gemmed gear which will not work against raid bosses..

Thus bringing hopefully skilled based pvp back into game and not stacked and duped gemmed armor which at this moment is age of one shotting..however raids will be imposssible as this gear was a must for the bosses.

IMO its a good step and i think that Funcom finally realizes that unless some drastic improvemennt happens now they are going down. But they better find a solution for pvers who want to raid too..

Might even be to late as many have shelved the game and the company.

But being a gamer i hope that this will give the game a chance to continue as it has potential. Unfortunately grasping at straws with there backs against the wall was quite silly. They are despearate and now move to try and turn it around.

No because implementing pvp with gem stacking and duping would have only led to those dependent on this cheat would immediately rise in pvp ranks to top thus making cheats and people who used them getting rewarded for something that is suppose to be based on skill and not gear which atm is the case.

All have fully gemmed dps gemmed gear either duped or bought and mellee gems (including my demo) which does more white dps with a sword then any of my l80 spells thus pvp has become who gets off a combo first equals dead in 5 seconds.

loads and loads of players are now waiting for War and most likely try that after funcom blew it with doing nothing

But as i said funcom is desperate and realize now that all the things people were complaing about was true and move to save the game..

Hopefully these moves give it a chance to survive as it has possibilities

Only way this game deserves to survive is if some other company buys it and start changing and developing it into what it deserves to be. Unless Funcom kicks Gaute and the rest of the people that seem almost single handedly have messed up beyond absurdity, I want Funcom to die as a company.

Gaute is a founder of Funcom. He cannot be kicked out. The only ones to have a chance of getting rid of Gaute are the shareholders/investors. However, since most of them are apparently running to get out from under this rattrap, the chances of that happening are 0 to none.

Yep, they hurt the largest part of the playerbase to fix the lowest. So when the shit hits the fan, and the PvErs leave out of disgust, they can make do with the subs from the gankers.

They should rename AoC "Fury 2".

Nice to hear so many opinions from people that did not play the game at all or quit more then month ago.

They are actually correct in fixing the gem issue before launching the pvp system in general.    The way pvp is right now, the people who cheated aren't really benefiting ingame from being able to one-shot people.  If they had released the pvp system before fixing the gem exploit,  it would ruin the pvp system right off the bat.

But their fix is kinda like the female swing speed issue.  They are taking the easy way out (development wise) and making a big part of the game suffer to fix a bug.

Basically the game is very flawed, and now they are going to really alieniate two groups of people.  Those that pvp and cheated, and raiders.

The fact that the gem fix is only on test now, means it won't be out for awhile.  Which means the pvp system won't be in the game until warhammer is out.

Is anyone going to be playing this game on Sept 19th

With AoC's track record of great patches and content Funcom really has alot of promise... NOT LOL

well if they wait to 19th very bad move on there part. As many who left will  be playing war and they have to hope that war devs are as incompetent as they have been..in order to get back some of those lost..

I dunno, Funcom Dev's have set the bar pretty high in the areas of incompetence. Not many teams are going to be able to equal them in this regard.

You know, they are making Vanguard's original team look good at this point.

I too think they did a good thing holding off the PvP patch until they fixed major imbalances like gems.  Next up is balance classes, the DT and Assasin better get some major improvements before anything goes to production, though I'm sure thy'll probably just release it anyway :/

oh ok i see now. this is why the left the duping in game all this time then eh? that way they can use it for an excuse as to why they are taking a longer time releasing the patch. almost like this duping has been a planned action in the first place. just another way to dangle a couple carrots in front of who ever is playing...yay after a month of duping we should be thankful for an update fixing it woooooohoooooo. now that is content...oh wait...where is that pvp patch again????

That says it all and Mythic had great success with DAOC and have been PVP centered for years. Whats AOC given us? months of promises that the PVP patch and DX10 is coming? (hmm box says its already in it LOL)

I personally hope Warhammer crushes what little is left of AoC after the screwing Failcom gave us. And the community deserves to finally get a good stable MMO to play (AOC was not even close).

I bet they could not fix it if the even nerfed the heck out of it.........

Let me see if I understand what the OP is saying:

Before they could even begin an attempt to "fix" PvP, they had to more or less DESTROY AN ENTIRE ASPECT of the game which players had invested countless hours of effort, playtime, et al into.

Now people are just hoping, fingers crossed, that this will be followed by a "fix" for PvP. Now if that "fix" happens to include the bounty system, they are going to be in for one serious let down IMO because that "fix" in particular isn't going to fly.
