Hi,
Currently the 10 MMO's on my computer are all dead.
So I was looking for a new one, with shiny graphics.
Would this be a good choice? |

Kinda an interesting first post for being someone who registered last year...but I would not suggest asking anyone here. Make your own decision. MMOs Played: Aion, ATITD, AoC, AO, Atlantica Online, AutoAssault, Cabal Online, CoX, DAoC, Dungeon Runners, DDO, EVE, EQ, EQII, GW, LOTRO, Myth War 2, Rappelz, Requiem, RF Online, Runescape, Ryzom, Shadowbane, Silkroad Online, SWG, SotNW, TCoS, TR, Vanguard, WAR, WoW, Zu Online |

No it isn't. Funcom have done an incredibly bad job on the game so far though. Patches break things, or un-fix previous fixes, zero (zero!) communication from the devs, duping / teleporting / superjump exploits go unpunished and un-fixed for weeks, and the forums are the ugliest bunch of angry fanboys I have ever seen for an MMO. There is no sign that it will get any better, and the company still brags about the great launch. If you want to try it, ask around for a buddy key. If you want to experience the "This game is awesome -> I'm getting a FAILCOM avatar" transition. I suggest you wait for WAR in less than a month for a new MMO. AoC is bleeding customers bad, the hardcore "Please sir, may I have another?" crowd stay and insult anyone they can, but all but two servers are now ghost towns. Good luck if you do. Dont waste your money on this one. Subscriptions and stock price are battle to see which can drop faster. If you like terrible patches, more bugs than a roach motel, no customer support, promises of the content listed on the box coming out month after month and boring gameplay then you will like this game though. Check out the new Warhammer trailer on File Planets main page looks awesome. |

If you haven't already bought it, I wouldn't suggest spending money on it. For all the flashy graphics, the game itself is extremely shallow for an MMO. There is virtually no way to develop your character, beyond leveling. Indeed, it has enough bugs, and things missing, to choke a horse, but its fundamental design is its real weakness. Who would think that a game based on Conan would basically be boring. Not that you can't fight in the game - but that's basically all you CAN do, fight for no real purpose or reward. It's just not a good MMO currently. I'm not sure it ever will be, because of its design. |

No this game is not dead, but it is very sick right now due to many bad decitions taken by the developers and Funcom as a whole.
Right now i advise you avoid this one for about 6 more months before looking at it again. At least then if this game will succeed or fail we will have a better idea by then. |

avoid this game it is pretty much dead if your are a serious MMO player
all the serious guilds have left and the only people that are left are casual gamers or noobs |

Yep - very curious first thread. anyway, assuming it's all in good faith, wait for warhammer. |

= Vanguard But,. at best, MMORPGs are not your kind of game

Yea because investing over 2000 bucks in MMO's makes them not my kind of game.
Anyways thanks for the quick replies. |

Paid MMORPG subscriptions are the ONLY valid rating meters because people have to pay to vote." |
Well Doomsayer's largest guild has just announced that they are going to WoW. Any game that has guilds not just people announcing they are leaving cannot be healthy. Waiting for the next thing |

This game has red-flags written all over it. I strongly advise you to pass up on this game, if you're searching for a long-term mmo.
In fact, this is my very first post since registering back in 04.
-Take care. |

I'm pondering whether to be offended or not at your calling me noob. Then again I guess I'm not too fussed about anything coming from people who think a population of "SERIOUS" MMO players is a selling point for any game. Serious MMO players tend to equal masochists who enjoy the EQ-breed "play and be punished" games, raiders on welfare or socially handicapped griefers. None of who will be missed when they inevitably leave in a burst of rage and frustration to wait for the next holy grail (WAR, this month).

My suggestion would be to buy the game and play the first free month as if it were a normal CRPG with multiplayer capabilities. Quit if it nothing has changed when you hit 80, or if you get bored before that. The first month won't cost you more than a regular singleplayer computer game, anyway. I do have an unused buddy pass available if you want it.
