if i preorder from direct2drive, will i be able to play the upcoming preview weekend and open beta. it says you get open beta, but i heard they open beta participants were already selected, is it too late?

  I preordered through direct2drive a little while ago and got accepted into preview weekend but it said first 50,000 copies or whatever so i dunno if you could still get in from it, im almost certain you would be able to get into the open beta or that would be false advertisement unless it specifically states you can no longer get in.

If you're from NA then you may still have a chance, I'm not sure.

Ok here's the deal since you've obviously not checked any official sources..

Preview Weekend starts Friday it includes All Current Closed Beta Testers, All Collector's Edition Pre Orders (who have registered a Live Master Account with Mythic) and the first 50,000 Standard Edition Pre orders (D2D only sells the Standard Edition).  Invites have gone out but there is no word if 50,000 SE invites have gone out, but i have seen alot of people who have it with an invite.  If you want to get in you need to make a Master Account (this account will be your Live Launch account if you keep your pre order).  If you get in ithey'll send you an email AND tact the status onto your account.  You can currently enter ALL Codes you received for your pre order and tag them to your Warhammer Online / Mythic Master Account.

Open Beta is for EVERY Single Pre order, Contest Winner, and Closed Beta Tester.  Its not until September 7th.    If you've registered your OB key you can go to Fileplanet and download the client so that you're ready on September 7th.

OH and the Preview Weekend is This Friday through Monday.  So you may have missed the window for it.  Don't worry OB will have everything you need to decide if you want to keep your Pre Order.

I just got my keys 5 hours ago, made my account, put them in, and I had these 3 right away under my account descriptions..

Which is what I'm assuming is the weekend. I read somewhere they are only allowing the first 50K into it though.. not sure.. but like I say I just got my keys today and look to be in.

EDIT: This is standard edition as well.. and this is NOT from direct2drive.. just wanted to say if you get your keys today you still have a chance..

how long is a little while ago? also there are 2 reviews on direct2drive from customers, one person ordered today and said they recieved there open beta invite, but not the ingame item keys, anothere guy who ordered on the 16th said he got nothing.

  I preordered through direct2drive on the 5th of this month and as soon as i did i got an e-mail with a Open Beta Code and a Live Game head start with the in game items listed.  Then i went to the new account management and entered the codes they gave me which then shows the Open Beta/Headstart on my account then just this week it showed War preview put onto the account so i guess no one really knows how many of the standard editions were preordered so far.

Will CE Pre-Order customers gain an extended head-start?
Yes. The final dates are almost but not quite set in stone. For certain, though, CE pre-order customers will have a somewhat longer Head Start than SE pre-order customers.


How many servers will there be for the Head Start? Will I be allocated a server, and if so, what happen if my non-Head Start friend want to play on the same server and it's full?
Players will not be allocated a server, but will be free to choose from the same selection of servers as will be available on Live Launch on September 18th. Naturally, we will be monitoring our servers intensely; if there is a need for more servers, we will plug in more of them from our stock. As of now, we cannot share any specific numbers on this.


When will the actual CE box be available in retailers for those who pre-ordered it?
September 18th.


Will EU SE pre-order customers get into WAR Open Beta?
No. This was a solution well suited for the American market, but less so Europe. With more diverse demographics, we have opted for a solution where we will be giving away 55 000 Open Beta keys through the EA Store and other community sites. This allow for a more focused approach, better suited the five-language market we operate in.


Will EU CE pre-order customers get into WAR Closed Beta?
No. When the Collector Edition pre-order program was designed last autumn, we decided to include Open Beta access as a bonus and we are sticking with this. Naturally, neither will SE pre-order customers.

Will there be a European Preview Weekend?
No. When the Preview Weekend was announced we were frankly caught by the bed. Our schedule leading up to Open Beta and Launch have included large scale testing all along, and a Preview Weekend event of sorts was never part of this plan. In the end, making such large scale changes with such short notice proved unrealistic.

Europeans will not be left in the dark, however. As we speak, WAR is being shown to approximately 200 000 people at the Games Convention, Leipzig.


When will the Open Beta start?
The EU Open Beta is scheduled to start September 7th. This is the date we have been working with for some time but naturally, anything can happen up until then.


Will we be able to download the Open Beta client in beforehand?
Yes. The client will be hosted from the EA Store from the first week of September.


Will WAR be localized in my language on launch?
Warhammer will be launched in Europe on September 18th in Italian, Spanish, German, French and English with 24/7 in-game support.


During EU Beta, servers have often been down during weekends, and with French labour laws in order, there has been no one there to fix them. How do you plan to meet this challenge?
The Closed Beta servers have indeed been hosted and maintained in France, thereby being subject to the infamous French labour laws. Again, the very reason we relocated to Dublin was so that we could get around this in preparation for WAR. The Live servers will be monitored 24/7 from Dublin.

I must be the first ever Gamer thats actually going to take a company to Court (if they dont refund my costs) due to Misleading advertising of this game.

If you visit, 

www.direct2drive.co,uk you will see the splash screen with Warhammer being advertised with Early access and open beta, the above thread has caused uproar on the forums regarding this.

And i for one, will shout, 

DO NOT ORDER FROM D2D.co.uk.  Wait until game is released and buy from Amazon.co.uk

I cant wait to see their faces when D2Drive and Mythic are brought to task here in the UK / USA over misleading the public like this.
