I've recently gotten back into CS:S and having a good time.

Since I'm a mmo fan I would like to know if theres a good shooter mmo.

It can be F2p or P2p (as long as it has a trial).

looking for a shooter similar to CS:S

Decent graphics, realistic military weapons and vehicles or even futuristic weapons but modeled after todays weaponry.

Usable vehicles would be cool but not needed.

Large maps, clans,territory control, missions, purchasable equipment.

I swear if CS:S had a open world and clans with territory control i would never need to play another game.

Please no First person fantasy mmo's, I want a shooter with sick looking guns not elves with bows and magic

Huxley MMOFPS?

Perhaps planetside or combat arms (note: I don't think CA fits the MMO-bill).

yea combat arms is a good fps, its like CSS with the deathmatch mod...but im not sure if it fits the mmo part...its still a decent game to play thats also free

Huxley isn't out yet I believe.

Combat arms is a basic shooter and full of glitches and hackers.

These guys use Hacks like Aimbot and godmode, speed hacks,jump hacks and many many more.

CS:S > CA

I am looking forward to Huxley though it looks nice.

fpsmmo's haven't really been doing all to well. Hellgate was a disappointment, warrock might aswell be CoD4 but less effort put into the making, and planetside is fairly old (never played it so cant really bag on it). as others have said Huxley is comin out soon (beginning of 09 i think) but besides that nothin else really.

You can give Tabula Rasa a try, should be a 3 day trial or somethin on their site, but its not really player skill dependent (can lock target and not worry about aim) but it is enjoyable for a casual gamer.

sry not much help, but really there arn't many fpsmmo's around and most just dont feel right. Almost better to stick with normal FPS imo: CS, TF2, Unreal 3, CoD4 (depending on yourpreference).

Yeah I guess CS:S will hold me over till huxley.

Going to swing by the WWII online forums i read that was a FPSmmo if anyone has played it let me know if its any good.

Huxley is going to suck.

WTB CoD4 MMO, BF2/2142 MMO, etc... WWIIO would be great if it weren't so slow paced and the world had more detail.

Combat Arms isn't TOO awful bad if you have good control of your temper and don't mind cheaters and school-yard level drivel in chat!

PlanetSide would be awesome if it was FtP; melee is OK but vehicular combat is pretty good. If you dare play any other $OE games then it might be worth the $tation Pa$$ to try it.

WW2 online would be a good choice but prepare to die.  A lot.  And not know where you were killed from.  In fact, chances are you will treasure each kill you make, especially in the beginning.

WW2 Online is almost more of a sim than a shooter.  Iron sights, no bunny hopping (thank god) bullet drop and real world physics.  It's all about using cover, shooting and scooting and situational awareness.  If you play a rifleman a ratio over 1 to 1 is considered good.  Tanks can kill you, you can't scratch them.  Vehicle penetration values are also modeled so when you jump in a tank and shoot at another, you better know where and if you can penetrate it's armor otherwise it's just going to bounce off and it's going to turn towards you and kill you.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game and a great lesson in what many shooters should strive to be more like but it's also very unforgiving.

Wolf team, fpsmmo, with wolves.

It has your normal first person shooter stuff, except you can mutate into a wolf when ever you want. You have to mutate and transform back to normal to adapt to different situations.

The wolf it self is a killing machine, it can run on walls, take less damage from gun fire and grenades, and tactical killing.

The game includes many modes to choose from, ranging from death match to capturing check points on the map.

It has a long range of maps, ranging from on top of a building to a abandoned lab

The onky mmo fps is neocron2 its a little bit old and have CS1,6 graphics but there you have a real world with all that you search there.14days trial possible,its a look worth but its very hard for starters coz trhey have much input for you brain ;)
