You'll only get to keep your current 70 levels and then have to level 10 levels with the same game mechanics.  I prefer something different after 4 years.

What WAR is and is not will start to become clear after the NDA is lifted tomorrow.Whether some are open to hear it......you can decide.

"FACT - The majority of WoW player base WILL NOT leave their fully developed characters just to start another level based grind all over again."

how is this a "fact"? we been playing WOW for years and personally I am tired of the game, the problem is no good MMO's have came out since WOW. I know a million people who will leave WOW if WAR lives up to the hype or is just as good, me being one of them. i don't know where all  your hate is coming from. we  all want an "UPDATED" version of WOW, WAR might just be it.

Forget an updated version of WoW, I just want something with as much freedom of SWG had, war is not an updated version of WoW; the only thing it does right is allowing people to jump right into an event without looking for a group.

I have to say, I really thought WOW was beta when it first came out. I quit after the first month, and didn't get back into it until just before Burning Crusade came out. I'm currently a WOW-addict with 2 70's and a number of lower level characters.

Here comes WAR, a game I'm excited for, even though it has flaws that make the developers look lazy. I'm sorry, the character animators should all be fired, they walk like constipated rednecks.

Still, WAR looks like it's going to be fun, and I can set aside the flaws because I did the same for WOW. After over 2 years in Azeroth, I'm ready for Warhammer.

Its simple. The way the PQ's work is the top 10 people or top something "not 100% sure" in the fight get put into a random pool for loot "if you dont rank high enough the game will tell you" So if your a healing class or a lvl or two lower than everybody else.. you almost never get into the top 10. So you just wasted how every long it took you to get past the phases. Most people will get into a group of 5 or 6 and keep at a pq quest for an hour or two and not leave untill they get maxed influance so people who are lower lvl have to wait untill the big groups are gone.

Im not saying the PQ system isnt a good idea but it needs some work "So thats why i said it was flawed"

Second i said that capital cities are like raiding in wow.. becuase a casual player who plays maybe 5 - 7 hours a week will not make a huge impact on city captures..

So before telling me im just spewing out a healing load of shit.. you might wanna ask if im in beta.. and o wait i am so i know how shit works.

I'm in the beta too and though they could add more bags to make sure you don't always get copped out, it still is a beta. Not to mention a few points that flawed your reasoning. The healers contribute fair enough, damage and otherwise.

Help for anything grants influence in the end. If you don't join that "big group" of people hogging kills (most likely an Open Group by the way, it's a button under your character portrait, noobie), that's just your fault for it taking so long. In the end, if you still aren't being rewarded, stop sitting around. Get tenacious. Contribute better.

As I've yet to deal with capital cities, I won't say. And if you play 5 to 7 hours a whole week you should be happy. You have a life! Not like anyone else here on the forums. Especially the OP for trolling.

If it's his delusion, that's fair enough. Played WoW not too long after launch. First incursion with MMOs but I had eyes on Earth and Beyond (old Westwood title) I think it was called, and I would have been playing DAoC a long time ago if I felt for the pay-to-play games at that time. Nearly four years now, and I've had my hand at a bit of everything. Raiding, PvP, Arenas with two level 70s I won't be playing anymore because I didn't like any of them. But that's how I feel. Not every other WAR fan out and about.

This one actually is a Fact and not an Opinion: WoW's end-game caters almost completely to the most hardcore or hardcoriest people that were ever born. And I say "almost completely" distinctly. A couple casuals can get a taste, but if you want max tier items and to become the next embodiment of Illidan himself, you have to be intimate about the game in a way that can make you look strange in public. WAR's end-game has yet to be determined but I'm sure as shit they aren't going to make success exclusive to the first 25 people to hone their lifestyle around a game.

WoW can't be beat though; it's had its bite and its turned into a feast. Partly the matter when an already successful company creates something based on its successes. Another matter how they borrowed from pre-existing MMOs but added the graphic quality and splendor not seen very often. They did it just right at its core elements, an RPG that is solid just-so. But the innovations and additions towards the end, as well as the repetitive gameplay (80 levels of the same thing punctuated by harder types of the same thing as well as tumultulous time/money sinks) aren't for some people. Some.

There is no doubt that Warhammer will be like World of Warcraft. But both will be like Lord of the Rings or Everquest because they all have Orcs and Goblins and Dwarves and Elves. Warhammer is just tweaking a few things, and changing a lot of things, and adding a lot of things to be appealing to a minority among the swarm of MMO fans.

I just hope that minority will be mostly smart people.

Oh, and one last thing about the crafting: I'd rather be able to fail once or twice trying to make something that will help me right away - rather than making thirty Dark Leather Boots so I can make the Hillman's shoulder pieces until I spent 300 beast's worth of killing and skinning. Or... Waiting a day or two so I can make another single piece of cloth for something that will be replaced by PvP Gear.

I am so glad that many people are coming over the the idea that MMO's are just bland copies of each other. I have been beating that drum for a long time. I don't expect those that are addicted to {insert your MMO here} to get it though anytime soon.

Let's party like it is 1863!

Although i applaud your "faith" the fact of the matter is, WAR wil not make much of a dent in an already dull and boaring genre that the fantasy MMO has become!

I think about 95% of the MMO gaming community bases these stupid and ridiculous facts about OTHER MMOs based on WoW. This is because WoW is dominating the MMO market. People say they're sick of the fantasy MMO grind. Well last time I checked, EQ was the first MMO which started the fantasy MMO play that all us MMO players have come to know and love. If you have a problem with it, then go play something else :]

Playing:WoW,Guild Wars
Used to play: Vanguard, Anarchy Online (got to lvl 6 and quit :p)
Waiting for: Warhammer, Aion

Besides the rare 13 year old I haven't seen one WAR fanboi claim this will topple WoW. That's a joke, and discredits anything you have to say. How can you be taken serious when it took WoW almost 4 years to achieve 8 million subscribers?

What other MMO do you think is coming out that will rival  WoW, or even WAR? Are you one of these Darkfall lunatics?

Who cares. Let people play whatever they want. These same arguments have already happened prior to AoC's release and look how well that turned out.

i have to agree. after playing mmos for almost 10 years. playing countless mmos, long before most of them even became "popular." i just see basically the same in this mmo that any other mmo has to offer. nothing new or creative whatsoever in this one. however due to the fact some of my friends (who came in with the wow generation) are extremely "hyped" over this, i will still play it. only to play it with my friends that is. even a redundant format can still be fun if played with the right people.

First of all you do not know me, so assuming you "think i do not know" is just naive. Second, give a talented group of programmers, artist and musicians 20+ million to make an MMO title and they will deliver perfection! Mythic is only trying to get a "bite" of WOW player base in order to make cash, period!

Assuming tyou know just because "you said so on an internet open forum" would be very naive indeed, i have no idea who you are or whats your background because you decided to put some words together and post it doesnt make it more than your opinion you could be my 12 year old niece posting for all i care. Also your remarks on giving a few programmers 20 million and they will deliver perfection lol just shows how much you know about game development and its industry.

That being said im disregarding the OP opinion as it is obsolete and without reasoning.

who cares about WoWs subsrciption numbers? over half of their numbers are from asia and a majority of that is from china which players are basically given the game for free and just have to pay for the time played. Blizzard only gets royalties from china suscriptions anyway. they have about 4.5m between EU and NA which is why when AoC came out blizzard did see it in their falling numbers. With WaR coming out you can bet blizzard will see their number drop once again, and probably one more time when Aion is released.

don't concern yourselves with all this numbers that blizzard or any other game releases since its all about making themselves marketable to the general public.

on the current subject...I enjoy a lvl based game that doesn't feel like a grind. PvP has always been fun and since i can lvl from it the process seems fast and entertaining.

alot of WoW player left to play AoC, granted they probably came back quick =p I'm sure the same will happen within 6 months after WAR is released.

what game has been innovative and successful? WoW is a copy and paste of a variety of MMOs.

games like WoW and WAR won't have a short lived shelf life because there will always be players that enjoy this type of game. innovation is nice but as the past MMOs have shown it can also be very risky and sometimes not worth it.

Let's see if you are playing in 2 months.  I felt triumphant when AoC ended up the way it did despite the fact that there were conservatively 10,000 "AoC is WoW killer" posts by launch.

Yeah right...the majority (who played WoW for a while) will quit it and start a new game especially if they are into PvP. I have 3 lvl 70 characters and the game is no fun anymore. Leveling is pointless and boring. I want a new game and it will be WAR!
