Myrdek there hasn't been true OB's since Lineage those days are gone. When you have a game as popular as WaR you don't have a problem filling it with tester's.WaR is going gold whether you guys like it or not,"gold" meens its finished as in don't need beta testers. Comparing Mythic to Funcom is just a joke, noone makes truly informed statements here they just regurgetate somthing they read or heard in passing. Go get your money back save for college become a programmer found a development studio and make a better game. Otherwise STFU |

I think if companies are going to start doing it this way shouldn't call it open beta anymore. They should call it a pre-release preview. Because really that's all they ever are these days and doing it the way they do now gives people a totally different perception. All open beta has ever been in my experience is to try the game out for a week or two before you buy it. Not a bad deal if you ask me. |

HA! Have you ever saw, heard or witnessed such a fit...that it was the ultimate pleasure (as the fit subsided and was replaced with a smiley, happy faced, ice-cream eating....disposition) to just point out what a complete fool they made themselves out to be? Is it me or are there others that find it pleasurable just to remind? That's all it is...but there is a hint of shadowy, malicious intent behind the many reminders I'm sure I'll be posting. |

That's what I thought too, I read betaleak, I have tons of videos and am very hyped. But doing this insures that you can't cancel your preorder in time and is a very shady business practice. I thought they were better than this. Better safe than sorry
Actually the only shady practice is trying to get something for nothing. In fact is it is the people that do this bait and switch order cancel crap that makes companies setup situations to weed out the scammers. This is a business like any other it costs money and if you have ever worked in the IT industry commercial server time is not free and bandwidth is not free. If you have worries about the game don't pre-order and buy live retail or wait 6 months for a buddy program. This plan is fairly standard similar to what LOTRO did and is fair. If you don’t like it cancel now please you have plenty of time to do so. |

Relax people. Why are you freaking out? You have a week to test the game. They are going to lift the NDA soon, and you will hear from thousands of people how good the game is. Then you will have a week to try it. You will have plenty of time to cancel pre orders. They are operating on a whole different level than Funcom, and this will be nothing like AoC. Just relax. It's just open beta. The characters don't carry over. |

Well, I was waiting all weekend to get to Monday so I can begin downloading it, it's exciting. I guess my biggest dissapointment at the moment is merely that I must wait even longer to try this out. My lady and I havn't played a game together in months, she's going to college in a different location than me so I'm eagerly awaiting something we can do together. She loves the original Warhammer table top game. I really wish they didn't make the OB so far from when they release the client.. it was a let down. I still want to play though. I suppose eight days is plenty of time to check it out. ------------------------------ 'Cry Havoc, and Let Loose the Dogs of WARRRRR!!!' |

Theres still the Preview Weekend prior to OB and techniquely Mythic hasnt posted anything yet.Its always possible that they are monitoring forum responses to gauge player reaction to a possible OB date of Aug 7th. I am waiting for the Mythic post, before I jump to conclusions. |

You would be surprised how few people care about what you have to say. |

Had these people kept as in-touch with Mythic as they like to think they do, listening to and reading all the interviews, they would know that the possibility of a 1-Week Beta is not new and not unexpected. Mark Jacobs himself specifically didn't count the possibility out. I didn't expect Open Beta until at least September 1st. If these people were so on-the-fence that this news makes them cancel their pre-order, then they shouldn't have pre-ordered to begin with. No loss. No news here. |

... I guess your .. history with MMOs is limited. Very few if any AAA games at all give you more than 1 week of open beta. All games give you Beta a week or so before launch. The fact you have a problem with this shows your lack of knowledge of MMOs before AoC or atleast before WoW. Kinda Sad but whatever we won't miss babies.
On the contrary, many MMO with open betas are way more than a week long. This isn't a good move by Mythic. I'm curious as to why they would do that. |

Trust those of us who cannot speak, I know AoC left a horrid taste in everyones mouth, but this is nothing like AoC. When NDA lifts you can get more details but... I did some of the early Beta stuff for AoC and from my first impression is had problems, problems that WAR is not suffering from. Sure WAR does haev some issues but it is far far more polished and ready for release then AoC would be even if it were to release today(that is if AoC were to release to today, with all the patches and "fixes"). I am by no means a WAR fanboy, I never played the tabletop and I have but limited passing experience in the RTS games. I am just someone who enjoys MMOs and have since back in the late 90s when Everquest showed up(and I am sad I never experienced UO). WAR is Awesome! |

WAR is better than most of the MMOs... AND ITS IN CLOSED BETA!!!!! so if you cancelled your preorder YOU ARE RETARTED and you should preorder again.
