Wow, ~3 weeks to download the OB client? That seems excessive.

What the hell is that crap? 1 week??? Their probably doing this to not give time for people to cancel their preorder, this is complete crap.

This is beginning to smell more and more like AoC.   That gives players just over a week to test the game.  Which means they will only be able to experience the very first part of the game (ie tortage).   It also means the NDA probably isn't getting lifted any time soon??

Seems to be turning into another MMO money making scham!!!!

So ther releasing the game on the 15th, Head start is 3 days = 12th of Sept.  So basically were getting 5 days for open beta?  After all the BS on the website about registration opening on 15th download available today.  Now ther saying we were just fucking with you and now wait until the 7th???

Will ther ever be an MMO that isnt marketed  by morons??

I'm Guessing that ill probably be on the list for TCOS and hopefully the notice the mistake AOC and now WAR have made.

... I guess your .. history with MMOs is limited.  Very few if any AAA games at all give you more than 1 week of open beta.   All games give you Beta a week or so before launch.   The fact you have a problem with this shows your lack of knowledge of MMOs before AoC or atleast before WoW.  Kinda Sad but whatever we won't miss babies.

Actually the release is sept 18, headstart 15th. Minus 1-2 days for maintenance = 1 Week beta

anyway , im sure most of the people crying about this not only will be playing WAR on release day but enjoying it too !

I can assure you that Mythic's release will be very different from Failcom's.  I would not cancel anything if I were you, the game is simply amazing.

That's what I thought too, I read betaleak, I have tons of videos and am very hyped. But doing this insures that you can't cancel your preorder in time and is a very shady business practice. I thought they were better than this.

Whole things just sounds like another Failcom debcale inc.

even 2 months ago when they cut content, which they hyped up and realy what was part of the game, Mythic knew they were in the crapper with release date getting ever closer, this just all smells like the Aoc crap all over again.  i wouldnt be suprised if the game bombs big time, but there are even more fanbois for War than there were for Aoc, so no doubt even if the game sucks big time, the defenders will be there.

Yes, everyone else is a moron but you. In the US, it comes out on the 18th and 3 days head start means you preordered it, which was YOUR choice. So 11 days before the game goes live to "try" the game as you call it. How many days do you need? I need a few hours to see if I like it to be honest. Apparently others have to rush a guy to make max level in 3 weeks to figure out if they like it?

If you buy the game and pump 100 hours of fun into it for the first month and feel lied to at the game, you had 100 hours of entertainment... don't sub and move on with you life, its real simple. Game companies own YOU nothing. They don't force you to buy the game, play the game, or to be subbed to it. If you are worried its not good, don't preorder the game. I know myself personally only touched the hot stove ONCE before I didn't touch it again... if it takes you 3-5 times, well I don't feel sorry for you.

This is plenty of time, but what do ya do. Some people are going to be a little scared after AOC, and i can understand that. Wait and see the ones cancelling will be the ones praising it first after it releases. When NDA lifts i ll tell you more why this will happen. Anyways, we ll see what happens but i can assure you that with me beta experience i won t be cancelling anything :)

Open Beta now days is more of a way to preview a game and do a stress test on servers. By the time we get in to OB the game mechanics are near finished or what not. I am not sure why everyone is comparing this to AOC. Although I am sure it will be negative on the boards here once OB starts. Either way a week is good for me :)

Personally it wouldnt have mattered to me if i didnt see all this hyp about getting the preorder getting into open beta, etc etc, i easily could have waited until release for this game, but because of all they BS ads etc, i fell head first into a mirage and now feel like not playing WAR period.

And i can do without MMO's i havent been into one in quite some time.  Greedy fucking game companies these days just make me sick.

I totally agree, and I bet those same ones will just rush to the store to get it the day it releases too. See I pre-ordered as well but you dont see me crying. I could care less even if there was a OB since I pre-ordered the game to play it when it releases. I waited patiently this long I can wait till the 18th to play because I know that the launch is what makes or breaks the game...not the OB.

Then honestly, move on with your life. I mentioned what with my other post. If you do not care about MMOs then delete your account here and move on with your life. I can assure you no one will say "where did salenger go?"... we'll somehow move on with our lives. Everyone here can just as easily NOT preorder the game, do the OB, try it out, and if they are still not sure then they don't have to buy the game. People hype up the game, no one else. You can throw as much PR at a game release but if people don't bite, there is no hype.

Jesus christ guys, some of you really over react at everything! Remember the OB is level capped anyway, i think its level 20.

You have more than enough time to see if you dont like it and to cancel any orders, canceling because they have a short order is completly stupid.

I like how Funcom bragged that they had the best beta testers in the world and then when the game comes out the game is chocked full of 1001 small easy to fix bugs.  I would think a longer open beta would help War but I guess they must have the same bunch of awesome testers "polishing" the game.   

I will never understand why this community is so full of people that just complain. I try to enjoy everything and if I get to play for a week or two and then move on so be it. I have bought plenty of games without betas that I pay the same amount for and get home play for 5 minutes and trash it. I ordered a CE a while back so I am just waiting for the head start. I just hope all the complainers quit before OB so I don't have to read their garbage in chat on day 1 like it was with AOC.
