Can someone help me out. I'm a little confused. I entered my pre-order open beta code along with the others and am confused to if there is a way for me to download the game now, or if i have to wait till open beta starts? I'm wondering because it seems people are downloading the game now and also Mythic said it would be available for download starting on the 18th. Can someone give me a hand? Thanks

as for people downloading it there are a few ways if you were in closed beta and bit torrent to name a few

Its only the download on the 18th, open beta's start date has not been announced yet.

I agree, this is my problem with the whole thing. Is the beta going to be one week of play before the game comes out? If so, that's about the lamest "beta" I've ever heard of. There is now just a day over a month until the servers go live... they shouldn't wait longer than this week to let people into the "open beta" if they want to get any quality feedback from it.

Nobody knows.  And the date could be wrong, since Mythic hasn't confirmed anything.

They pay employees to get feedback not some person that paid money to see the game a few days before it goes live (literally days before the game comes out) and I'm not under the NDA nor do I work in Fairfax VA, but I've overheard its going to be Sept 3rd for the US from a reliable source, and headstart will begin approx a week after that (Sept 10th).

Also people should know the servers are going up live the 18th at 10:00am so more than likely there won't even be a midnight release at 12:00am on the 18th, even for pre orders.

Other MMOs have done the same thing. LORT:Os head start program was only 10 days, and they never included open beta access for pre-orders (I'm pretty sure atleast). WoW never had a head start program, and had a relatively similar open beta for a short duration. (14 or less days).

I think you'd be surprised how much feedback they get during that period. Anyways, it's just as much a stress test to see how the servers can handle the load as it is a PR stunt.

Aside from that open beta is all about stress testing the servers. It is so much better to have server problems in an open beta than on launch.

 8 days? Damn someone people would be at level cap before release. 

It's due to go gold next week,and should be announced at Leipzig Mon,Tues or Wed.

So heres hoping to the 23rd for the PW But I still say the 29th for PW and OB on Sept 5th That would be 9 days of OB 1 day to wipe and get ready to go live for the headstart on the 15th.

Man the beta better not start in September. Wish theyd just give us solid info instead of dragging us along for weeks and weeks only to then go, oh wait, you'l have to wait a few more weeks now!

Kinda starting to take the mick. Im from the EU but i have an NA Open Beta code on my NA Account and really dont want GOA's incompetence to delay us playing and testing out the game.
