Wife says, 'New game?' I say, 'Yup!, got invited to test this one.' Wife says, 'Warhammer? Isn't that like Warcraft?' I say, 'Nope, completely different' Wife says, 'Looks the same to me, what's the point?' I say, 'Well there is the story, and different features, and...' Wife cuts me off, 'I don't get it' |

Ok I had to read over the NDA right fast so I would know what I am allowed to say... The game is good, don't expect something omfgz amazing cause it isn't. It is a great game though. If you liked DAOC you will love WAR, but I don't see many WoW people actually enjoying it because it is nothing like WoW. With that being said. If you love WoW ignore WAR, if you love DAOC make love with WAR. LoD Empire Member |

Let me clarify the WoW part. If you like the way WoW has gone with the raid set up and all the pve aspects. WAR will probably make you feel like you are lacking content because it isn't strongly based on PVE...If you are one of those people who just love WoW PVE I would wait for Wotlk. WAR is pretty much DAOC 2.0 which is awesome in my eyes. To each his own though. I am just trying to not be biased and give you some solid info. If you are not a PVPer your character will never be as strong as it can be. Realm Ranks give points used to boost stats and all that. LoD Empire Member |

I think I understand you. Tx for the clear hint. Not everyone likes to be beaten up in PvP all the time. And the more you beat up, the more your stats are enhanced. I think most Wow people like PvP as a sometimes important - gear based - side event, but everyone needs a break from the head banging all the time. That should place WAR in a nice niche market with lesser replayablity. Or perhaps it's even a good thing: one could play the two along each other. Only 1 condition still stays: the WAR PvP fights have to be as good as Wow's fast pace fights. MMO wise. |

I don't think any game, no matter how good, can live up to the hype, especially the fanboi hype. Not to mention the perpetual hope that some game, somewhere, some time, will kill the antichrist, WoW. Best to just take the game as it is and figure out if it's for you yourself. CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested. Once a denizen of Ahazi |

lesser replayability? I've been playing on a WoW private server for the past few weeks. It's just a massive battle in AV. All you do is bash the shit out of people over and over. It hasn't gotten old yet. I usually find myself smiling with glee in watching the battle rage on. That's something that raiding has never done for me. And anyway...it's not like this game is completely void of PvE. Over 300 PQs and a butt load of dungeons is enough for me. Something tells me that sieges aren't going to get old for a while either. Even watching the videos gets me syked for it. This game will have tons of replayability. And by the time it starts to get old...We'll have an expansion and loads of new content. ------------------------------ |

See I didn't like WoW because I expected it to be what WAR is. More of a WARcraft game. Not so much PVE Raid Gear based game, but I also didn't care for EQ either. I wouldn't call it a niche game. It is pretty much a game about an ongoing war with rpg elements....like daoc. DAOC wasn't exactly a niche game. Despite the need for Realm Ranks in DAOC to make your character reach its full potential it never hurt for subscribers. If you take everything from DAOC and improve on it a bit you have Warhammer:AoR. It is pretty much the spiritual sequel to DAOC. LoD Empire Member |
