Well day two and the servers aint too stable tonight so I thought I go and experient with my hunters new BM talents and tree system.

So I went off to my nearest Hunter trainer, unlearned my talent tree and spec'ed up fully into BM (beast mastery)

The new 51 point top tier talent is "exotic pet taming".  This allows a hunter to tame special beasts not tameable by non BM hunters.  The current beasts are Devilsaurs, Silthid bugs, Giant worms and giant moths.  Although these beast dont do much more damage then regular pets they do come with unique skills and attacks and possibly the most fun aspect is that are huge.

I decided to go for a devilsaur, so off to Ungoro creator I went, lots of hunters running around looking for the beastie but was not long until I spotted one.  Once tamed I noticed he went up from lvl 60 to 65, apparently any pet under lvl 65 with now automaticaly become lvl 65.

The other big change to hunters in WOTLK are pets now get their own talent tree, split into 3, one for Tanking ( Tenacity ), DPS ( Ferocity ), Utility ( Cunning ).  Unfortunaly we cant choose what tree our pet gets access too thats decide apon their family, Boars get Tenacity, Cats Ferocity and Birds get Cunning and so on.  My Devilsaur gets Forocity (DPS).

Pets get points to spend depending on their level, every 4 levels they get 1 extra point ( BM hunters get +5 points from get go ).  The first tier is common to all 3 trees, but its the top teir is where the realy meaty stuff is. Skills such as instant pet ress.. +10% attack power to all raid members for 20 seconds.

As I said before Exotic pets get additional attacks, my devilsaur gets "monstrous bite" That increases his damage the more he uses it.  It also increases his size.  With Beast wrath turned on hes grows to about 5 times regualr size.. its a sight to behold.

Blizzard know their polish standards are soooo high they don't need a NDA to cover up the bad stuff before release and Blizzard also know you wouldn't be able to keep a NDA on WOW and the fact that millions will be buying it no matter how bad it was.

I'm defo going to buy this expansion though because that pet just looks so kool. Is it true you don't have to feed your pet for loyalty anymore? If so then i'm defo in!

I play shadow priest but man that t-rex looks so damn kool! lol.

I wish hunters could use their pets as mounts though :(

Hey thanks for the updates i cant way to play.

I'm leveling up another Hunter.  One for MM/Survival, one for BM. ::)

Not sure how the exotic pet thing works, but seems to me that if you respec out of the 51 point exotic pet talent, you would either lose your exotic pet or it becomes  unusable.

Either way, having a stable full of exotic pets sounds sweet.

pet talent tree seems pretty cool. but nothing really new to make me want to play.

Nice pic of the pet tree, was interested to see what they were going to look like and how they were going to work. Nice video, glad to see they are allowing some new pets.

OMG, that video made me rethink the BM tree completely.  That looks like a lot of fun.
