"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand" - Randy Pausch

This is just a thread to post all of the games you are looking forward to.  Post ones for this year only, then ones for the future.

This year:

1.  AION - been thinking about it, either this or WAR.

2.  WAR - Above

3.  APB - if it ever releases....

4.  Stargate Worlds:  A small possibility.

If I'm not playing a game by this end of this year, then I'll probably cry

Future (longer than this year):

Fallen Earth:  Looks interesting, something I would love playing

Citadel of Sorcery:  This game over any other game on the market.  Can't wait for this one.  Quests, crafting, overall design looks awesome.

Renaissance-  Been keeping an eye ont his indy game, looks interesting.

Mortal Online:  This game grabbed my interest as well.  PvP, crafting, looks great.

What are YOU looking forward to?

I really want to say WAR, but due to the fear of it getting delayed yet again, I will pretend like I have no interest in it until the day I see the game on the shelf of my local Best Buy. And on that day all the anticipation and excitement shall return, my hands will grasp the copy and my legs will sprint towards the register where my credit will gladly swipe it-self and give me the opportunity to stare at the closed game box until my semester ends and I finally get the time to submerge my self in this stellar MMORPG!!!

Also looking forward to Champions Online, DC Online and Mines of Moria.

The horizon looks dark and cloudy for MMOs. I'm not saying the "new" MMOs on the way are going to be bad, but I don't feel they will be anything really new.

But as far as games I'm looking forward too ...

1. Fable 2

2. Gears of War 2

3. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

4. Fallout 3

5. Dead Space

6. Call of Duty: World at War

7. Prince of Persia

Currently none and I used to say I just want SWG pre cu back but after playing the emu alot about the game that used to bug me come fooding back to me and I just want quests and storyline to do with the old system because standing around all day does get boring. Also I don't like the restricted armour and weapon sets you have to use because it gets boring using the same stuff over and over again and I would like to have variety. I don't like the HUGE role buffs have in the game too because while I like the social aspect, all the buff bots are back even in the emu and I find it a flawed system. So I'd like it that buffs still enhance you but you're not FORCED to go and get them to be able to play.

So after that experience I'm not sure if i'll ever be happy and not sure what I want in a mmorpg anymore.

I think the best way to sum what I think I want though is SWG pre cu mixed in with the CU (no levels though) mixed in with question progression like WOW so you can level up without having to grind and have something fun to do.

To answer the question though........ I don't want any of the upcoming mmorpgs that I know about their gameplay. Maybe the new Bioware mmorpg though because Bioware seem to have mastered the RPG genre, though I hate their combat systems, they'd work in a mmorpg.

Talking about SWG much?

Spellborn I might try depending on the timing if you feel me

Sorry not very many MMO on my list in near future but beyond that I look forward to true next gen

The only mmorpg I'm truly looking forward to is Mortal Online. It's everything I could want in an MMO.

Other than that, a few games I would like to play:

Spore
Mirror's Edge
Demigod
Alan Wake
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Rise of the Argonauts
Dead Space
InFamous
Diablo 3
Fable 2
Dragon's Age: Origins

I'm looking forward to some SF MMOs. Earthrise looks good, although I doubt it will be out for some time. Fallen Earth will be out before that. I like a lot of aspects to FE - The post-apocalyptic, grungy thing, but I'm not sure about the art I've seen. And then there's Stargate Worlds which I'll give a look.

Non SF I'll probably give WAR a try, as I think it will be the biggest MMO in the west after WoW. Chronicles of Spellborn has interested me, but I'm beginning to worry about it. And then there's Darkfall. I doubt I'll ever play it, but I'm really intrigued to see what happens with this. A game that's been in evelopment for  a millenia or two and still there's no footage. Something weird there. Developed by a few amateurs, claiming it will be a groundbreaking MMO. If it does come out I'm pretty sure it will be a disaster, but it should be fun watching ;)

Playing: Eve, Fallen Earth, Entropia. Trying D&D Online

WAR, Darkfall, Earthrise, Fallen Earth, Mortal Online, AION, Guildwars 2

I'll probably be subbed up to at least two of those games above when they release.

Why would I play a pathetic themepark MMO when I could enjoy a masterpiece like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age?

Coming in no specific order at all. I've probably missed a lot of games too, but yeah - shit happens.

  • Fallout 3 - Looks plain awesome.
  • Aion - Haven't bothered to look at it much, but may turn out good.
  • WAR - PvP is awesome, a PvP focused MMO must therefore be awesome... right?
  • Fallen Earth - At least good concept.
  • Spore - I'll probably just create a billion creatures and then throw it away.
  • Guild Wars 2 - Guild Wars (1) is awesome; and Guild Wars 2 seems to take the good things from GW and fix the bad ones.

I'm pretty excited about Cryptic's projects, since I was such a huge fan of CoX.  Champions Online is promising to be everything that CoX was and everything they wanted it to be all rolled into one cell-shaded package.  Star Trek Online meanwhile has an interesting licensed property and looks to be a haven in the storm for sci-fi fanboys.

Blade and Soul has the fast-paced, console-style combat that I've been craving for some time, and I believe I went on the record as saying that the trailer looked "Sex-tastic" given that every moment of it was in-game action.

Football Superstars is the only free-to-play game I'm watching.  I'm a soccer fan, and it'll be nice to be able to play a game of soccer that's not arcady, 3-on-3 at the most.  Playing a full-on 11-on-11 game with 21 other players could be incredibly enjoyable.

I'm also keeping an eye on Black Prophecy too, but that's in the more distant future.  Quite a nice-looking spacefighter game, though.

If you like "soccer" m8 then maybe the upcomming football manager live will also be something for you,As it says in the title you dont actually play the football but are the manager,The game comes from the maker's of the highly successful football manager series and could be good if managing is also your thing, here is a link to there main site...

http://www.footballmanagerlive.com/

Games I am looking forward too are..

WAR,TCoS and football manager live.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

As far as online games, Just Aion.

Not looking forward to any solo game though Fallout 3 might be interesting. And if the are making another Elder Scrolls game that would be of interest.

Also, I think Rockstar games is making a sort of 40's gangster game which looks amazing from the trailer.
