no thats true but some things never change . the younger you are the more you want to play the hero . you ll find most kids wanted to be cowboys rather than indians(although really they should ve played native americans if they wanted to be on the good side ;) ) years ago and how many kids want to be darth vader over luke skywalker . i think that ll be born out in this game . chaos will be the stronger side because it ll have an older and more stable player base . also the more mature side tend to understand tactical teamplay over just owning one enamy at a time . if your over 12 and want a more rewarding and friendly gameplay experiance play evil . |

mythic allready said they were gonna put in something to cap one side if a server gets too imbalanced (cant remember what exactly it was in one of the videos) so chill. eventually it will be balanced or just barely one sided. Besides numbers dont mean a thing aslong as you have a good group of friends (see 8 vs 32+ from DAoC) Protip: If someone does NOT list at least one positive and one negative about the game they are critiquing, its best to ignore the post. |

This isnt WoW people are comparing Order to alliance and destruction to Horde its the opposite really kids go to the cooler looking classes ala Chaos Chosen mostly or any other destruction class that looks cool to them while the more mature are going for the less popular side =)
I can tell you after GTA kids dont care about whos good or bad but what is cool |

Same thing that happened with WoW.
Little kids want to play the hero, big kids want to play the guy who looks like an absolute bad ass
i mean, come on...you got this:
Versus this:
Which one screams bad ass? Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced. |

Obviously I can't talk about CB but your worries over population arn't needed because theres always a constant balance between the two sides with every race being used, so nothing is really more popular than the other, the empire and chaos might have a slight advantage in numbers but that could just be because the game isn't shipping with the other cities for RVR. |

I played an Alliance character in World of Warcraft. I was part of the Rebel faction in Star Wars Galaxies. I was affiliated with Zion when I played The Matrix Online. I play as the New Conglamerate on Planetside. I played as a Freep on Everquest 2. I played as a Freep on Lord of the Rings Online. etc. etc. You get the point
I am not a "little kid" and I chose to play one of the Order races LONG ago. There are many more factors to choosing a side than whether something looks "bad ass." Some players (including myself) just enjoy being part of the more civilized and righteous side of the game. Easy on the tunnel vision, broaden your view.
(edit: As for the High Elf and Chaos picture, I would definately choose the High Elf. If you know anything about High Elf lore, or have any basic understanding of Elves you will know why they are the better choice.) STOP WHINING! |

My god how blind are you if you don't recognize (other than the obvious!) that the same formula didn't work so well for wow's alliance. Official reviews state the obvious, that mythic's marketing is going to exacerbate the problem. It's not so much the number but the quality of pvp player that's going to unbalance order and destruction. A lot of those order classes just simply don't look appealing for a pvp situation. lol. And destruction just reeks of badassery. The better pvpers will opt for destruction. There's no doubt. |

I personally beleive destruction was designed better overall. I mean just look at them, they look superior in every way and you can really tell a lot of work was put into the art work. The humans and dwarves look really weird to me... Then again i have played horde for years on wow so i like the whole darker theme. |

Engineer doesnt sound good with its turrents to protect keeps? White Lion doesnt sound good for distraction? Bright Wizard doesnt sound like awsome DPS? Warrior Priest isn't a great buffer?........

Sure it doesn't represent the entire Order alliance but the great thing about WAR is there's no pink afro gnomes. The good guys are dark grey and the bad guys are black as night. And a little green around the edges if you want to count Greenskins. -------------------------------------- Order of the White Border. |

Guy... I wasn't talking about how good the classes are in pvp... I was talking about the appeal that races like chaos or greenskins have over dwarves and elves to hardcore pvpers. Yikes. |

Wallpapers? Well I guess some people look at those. Let's talk about something a little more visable like this box art. Here it's not as much how factions look it's who looks more dominant and aggressive in a fight and more prominent in the layout (being what someone sees first on the box). http://www.vgboxart.com/view/8361/warhammer.online.age.of.reckoning/?replies=10 Order is like oh crap let me defend myself... God I hope i get my pistol out in time... Destruction is like AAAARRRRGH I'll eat your children next!!!! Now of course order in this art has appeal of another kind but it isn't the kind to attract the more assertive in pvp. Don't get me wrong I like the art. It's got that classic fantasy thing but I'm just thinking about what little things influence someone to choose their side. |

Not being in beta myself, I've only heard greenskins are fun to play, which might be part of the draw. As for being the underdog, it's been said that if one side is at a disadvantage, they might get an xp bonus or something to level it out.
Also, witch hunter is pretty badass to me, not exactly the hero. He'll burn an entire village before letting one chaos worsihpper live. |

I dont care about being the good side or being badass... Im rolling dwarf. I want to drink lots of beer, grow an enormous beard, be short, and explode my enemies's kneecaps. Also I dont think that choosing a race is about being badass. It's about looking at the races and go: hmmm... which race's face do I want to melt the most? |

Now that I've mulled it over for a day, I would think 'hardcore' gamers would care more about the skills of a class and how those skills intermix with other classes on their side. I'd go prancing around in a tiara and a My Little Ponies t-shirt if that's what it took to pwn some wanna-be l33t kids. Might just be me though.

Chaos has more complete classes. That's why... A 3 class Empire with ... a mage and ... a witch hunter .... Who wants to play with that??? Mythic doesn't know 70% of all warhammer miniatures players have an Empire block in their closet. To me its clear : Mythic designers hardly played the minature game at all. But of course 95% of the MMORPG players are not even interested in the miniatures game. Who cares. Well the WH clubs care. It surprises me every time I play at my club that interest of those Warhammer players is so low. You hardly find anyhting in the MMO that makes the Warhammer miniatures game so interesting. If they had deleted the WP, it would have been a complete disaster.

In terms of the general rule of thumb I agree with what folks have said about bada$$ being the way to roll. That said, I tend to like characters I can actually 'feel' and so I'll end rolling a dwarf and a High Elf. *shrug* When my brother and I play together (we're in vastly different time zones so it's not too much) we've always tended to play the 'goody' types. For this game we're waffling over to the greenskin side of the fence just to be different. That said, for my solo play, I just don't 'feel' evil enough to mumble vague profanities and spit on the sidewalk like good Chaos minions should. I think that while the general populace tends to go with 'cool' for a lot of folks, especially Veterans ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RegzUvYZ7E&feature=related ) of gaming, it ends up being what feels best for each individual. |
