hey everyone :)

just wanted some input from peoeple on these boards. i'm going to be buying a new pc likely this upcoming fall and i want to make sure my gfx card is top of the line. i'm looking at some dells, maybe the xps 420.

that being said, and i'm sorry if this question comes off as noobish, which companies are the best makers of graphics cards?  and i guess going from there, which models of these cards are ones i should be seeking? my price range caps out at 400 for a gfx card.

thanks in advance for any and all help!

ATI's 4870 looks like it will be the top of the line.

ATI and NVidia are the big ones for video cards. NVidia's top is the GTX 280.

I'm waiting to see what price the HD4870x2 retails at before I make my decision.
