for those who haven't read it

http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/warhammer-online/895250p1.html

Like many here I've been following their beta playtime that isn't under NDA to get a good feel of where the beta is at and how the game works in practice.

It seems that overall the game is very entertaining and that all the features are in and they truly are in the process of polishing only. Which is great news of course, considering how many MMOs are not even feature complete by the time they reach open beta. But it does seem that there are a good amount of bugs, more so than they can possiblity fix before release.

We have to remember that they still have to optimize for all pc configurations, see how the servers operate under heavy load, balance the classes along with fixing the remaining bugs. I get the impression that when the NDA lifts the reviews are going to be like this...

"Warhammer Online is an incredible game for people who like playing with others for a common goal. They have managed to innovate on many features and make the game truly involving. My only concern is with the amount of bug remaining... it will probably be 2-3 months after release before the majority are cleaned up but the game will still be good enough to buy at launch. Give it a chance and you'll enjoy yourself more than you have in any other MMO before."

I'm not in beta and this is just a guess :)

Anyone else get that same impression?

Unfortunately most if not all MMO's are released feature incomplete or contain multiple bugs of one kind or another.  That's just the way it is in todays market with pc games.  Which is why I never purchase a newly released game.  I always wait a few months after the intital release for not only the early player reviews but so the company(ies) have time to get some patches in.

That's just the way I roll...

WAR isn't feature incomplete every single system necessary for the game to be feature complete is implimented & functionining.

As for bugs thats just normal its just not possible to catch every single one in MMOs. Its just nice when the bugs aren't game destroying.

"And that''s the way the cookie crumbles"

Well with the CE's getting into CB and then the massive amount of people in OB, I think we will be able to smash quite a few of those pesky bugs.

Not me. I like to be in on the ground floor, warts and all. The struggles with the problems that all games (no matter how well-tested) have in the begining are badges of honor.
