The folks at Fallen Earth have prepared a brief preview of the recently revamped tutorial and new player experience in Fallen Earth.

In recent months we’ve completely revamped the new player experience in Fallen Earth, rebuilding the tutorial from the ground up and restructuring many of the starter towns. These screenshots show some of the work that has been done in the tutorial, which now takes placing during the Fall of Hoover Dam and introduces the player to some of the more advanced parts of the game, such as vehicle operation and rocket launchers. The player will face everything from White Crow commandos to genetically engineered super-soldiers in the tutorial, and will interact with the six main factions. After the tutorial, players will be able to select what town they wish to start in, each of which has a different focus (crafting, combat, support, PvP).

ya know, every news item for this game makes me more and more interested in trying it out

but

not sure what the plans are for a "really" open beta (such as no sub necessary from you know which website) or a  free (and i mean really free) trial of this game

if neither of those things happen then it is a wait until a few months after release since there won't be any more nearly blind purchases of MMOs  from me

The game producers have stated a few times that there will be no fee's to beta test the game

so you should be able to try the game in open beta for free

Could it be?  Can we expect a release this year?

Nice shots, the graphics is turning out great.

I can't wait for this game!  Just seems to be getting better and better.

game looks pretty good too me. FPS combat, skill-based, some pvp, sweet

Icarus studios is doing a great job of keeping it's fanbase rabid and ravenous (myself included) with small info releases like this one.

This has just been oneof those games that has been in development forever, and I hope that the quality of the game really reflects the amount of time spent on developing it.

I was always afraid that this one wouldn't see the light of day (canned during development, Twilight War anyone?). We haven't gotten there yet, but it feels like it's getting closer.
