Sigil had the idea, but they didn't have the gusto. This is one of the few things SOE has done right in the past 4+ years and they aren't saying a goddamn word about it. They've fixed so much in this game is just under a year that it's hard to even explain everything.

It's a sleeping phenom and it's just frustrating that the stigma that is sticking with the game is so divisive.

AoC has the innovative combat system (though its a friggin joke with damage gems), and WAR has the innovative pvp system (RvR and murderball mini-games).

Vangaurd needs PvP content, but there is more than enough at this point to at least put the name out there to prospective NEW customers.

I'll say it again for anyone that doubts it, SOE actually did something right this time.

Maybe even SOE is shocked they did things right somehow and are confused what to do :)

ya, I have been hearing alot of good things about Vanguard lately, i am currently looking at this game more seriously now, and in the coming weeks will most likely purchase this game...seems like alot of fun and adventure in Vanguard..good job Soe!!

Buying this after work today for me and my wife. We recently quit AOC. I felt the combat was a gimic. I am so tired of the PvP this and that. I am really looking forward to playing PVE with a community vice a bunch of angst filled young adults. See you all in game.

I think that is a huge exaggeration to say SOE has fixed so much in Vanguard.  Rather it is the opposite they have done almost nothing.  In the 15 months they have owned the game they have a dded a grand total of 4 pieces of new content.  About as much content as one would expect a normal MMO to add in 1-2 months time.

Here is a list for you of the new content SOE has added in the last 15 months since they took over.

1.  Lvl 12-15 questline ion Ksvari Gulch

2.  APW + outside raid mobs.  Very well done for a first raid dungeon but most serious guilds finished APW back in early February 6 months ago.  6 months is a long time to go with no new real content.  It is to bad Cylus and Avarem left.  the only dev left who worked on APW is Tiralsee.

3.  Griffon questline   Very well done although they have made it much easier now.

4.  Racial Mounts

There is a reason why SOE is not advertising Vanguard, its because they are not funding the game.  The Dev team has dropped from over a 100 when they took over to 12.  There is one adventure content developer left in charge of adding new content, adjusting old content, fixing quests and so much more.  An impossible job.  The Vanguard devs should be praised for the great work they have done with so little.  But SOE simply has no interest in developing Vanguard at this time.  Sillius has said there is no expansion planned for this year or next year.  All Vanguard is being used for is a marketing tool for EQ2. They bought it to reduce their risk and remove competition from EQ2.  Unfortunately they do not realize Vanguard is a 100 times a better game than EQ2.

If anyone has played the trial isle on the test server and seen how bad it is and poorly done one will realize they have no intention of marketing this game.

It is very sad they are just letting such a great game wither and die.

I recently started it up, and must say there is a huge difference compared to it from beta/release.  They really do need to add more content and fix other things since I've heard it tends to be a bit bare endgame, but for newcomers, it has been refreshing for me and from others I've talked to.

Haven't had the time to play lately, but I'll probably play it until WAR at least.

And here I thought I was the only person who knew why SOE bought Vanguard.

There is no future in EQ 2. After three expansions there really isn't anywhere for this game to go. I think SoE should instead invest in Vanguard, there are great things that could be done with this game if they have the balls to do it.

SoE doesn't fix Vanguard.

The same quests are still broken.

There's a mob in NH that still has hands the size of twice her chest, it's been like that since beta, when I saw that still wasn't fixed..

SoE takes up games that are in bad shape and makes money from them, but they don't fix them.

i agree... i am a potential new customer thinking this game is amazing the past two months however nobody seems to PM me a buddy key here so i can atleast try the game out.. :[
