When i go through all the Funcom forums i see that French, Spanish, UK and US players are mostly upset with the games current state. They complain about the missing PvP and the missing endgame content.

Only the germans seem to be extremly pleased with AoC

Now i wonder whats the difference between germans game experience and the rest of the worlds. Why arent they complaining ?

Do they easily accept to buy BETA games ? Are they happy to play bugged and unfinished stuff ??

Are they happy with a little cookie thrown to them once every few days ?

or is the game in its current state just perfect for them and they do not know any better ?

i have no Idea why the germans are so happy and the rest of this planet isnt....

I have 2 questions.

How do you know Germans are happy with the game?

How can anyone be happy with the game?

As a german mmorpg gamer I can tell you, I am very unpleased with AOC (in other words: I throwed into the trash). And I know enough other people who feel the same.

It is an interesting observation though. I cannot validate this at the moment, because I don't go to the aoc forums often. But if this is right, it would be interesting to know why we germans feel mainly different concerning AOC;)

Aoc was by far not as hyped in germany as in other countries.
It popped up for one month in game magazines, and vanished again. There is no huge outcry about it, because there was no huge media attention.

The tests were far from auphoric. The relatively popular "gamestar" had one cover with it, critisized the game a bit, and then it vanished again.

It's most likely because games with heavy violence either get censored (read: butchered), or get marked as 18+.
Aoc is, if i remember correctly, marked as 18+, and thus doesn't have much publicity at all.

Yes, it got a 18+ here in the EU. So Pegi which is an EU constitution marked it as 18+. So I think this had no influence particulary on Germany. Spain is also in the EU, they must have that 18+ Pegi, too - don't they?

The mature content was nerfed in Germany as well.

Things you should know about Funcom before you subscribe to their games. HGC & Funcom RX & FC expose video & AO players dire warnings about aoc ignored by fanbois.

Pegi has by far not the influence it seems to have. It is completely unimportant in germany for example. In germany, the USK and BpjM do everything.

That is right. USK gave it a red stamp, which basically means that it would've been almost blacklisted. But for the hype, I don't see this is the correct assumption. Not being hyped here doesn't mean the people would be fine with everything funcom delivers. There must be another answer to this. Maybe we just don't like to express our anger in such an offensive way, like in the other countries...who knows.

Let me say it that way:

Ten people won't form an angry mob running around with pitchforks.

Remember Gothic3? People went ballistic about that. It's not that germans don't complain (aren't we also known as the country with the most people complaining about things?), the "rebellion" simply lacks numbers.

Maybe people even simply got used to broken games. We had our fair share of them.

Hasselhoff is a huge star in Germany, I guess it must be a cultural thing.

They are happy there because Funcom communicate with them.

If Funcom had communicated on the other boards like they do there then they would probably still have twice the subs they have now.

I don't know where you get your informations. But your source is definetly wrong.

Knight Rider was big somewhere in the 90's, thats right.

AoC really isn't that bad. Of course if I spent 3 months raging on the forums with people who quit after the first bug I'd think it was hell too.
