From what I can tell, the VIP's (people who had active accounts when the servers went down) received an email and are able to play but not being a VIP, I can't say for sure myself.

I see. Hope they open up account creation within the next couple of days. My retail box should arrive in 2 days i reckon. Would like to try out the trial anyway.

I was able to log into the account page, and Status is OK for me....but I never got a email from them.

Maybe b/c I was going off of the 30days that came with the box when the servers went down....and that counted as a active sub at the time.

Hopefully I can log in

So I take it if you can log into the forums successfully (says "thank you for logging in") but then gives you this page:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page... etc etc

then that means you're not one of the lucky ones who can log into the game? Heh.

Well at least it should mean they remember who I am and that my characters should still exist if there isn't a wipe etc...

Ok yeah.. hanging out now.. *sigh*

Same here. When I view my account it says that the status is OK but I haven't recieved any email either so once the client is done downloading, I am definitely going to give it a shot. It would be pretty funny if I could get logged in since I did technically have an active account at the time the servers went down.......only it was an active trial account.

I signed up for the trial the very day the servers went down so I have no idea if it will work or not. It was a saaad day since I never got a chance to try the game before the servers went down.

I dont get that at all...no clue what that is about.

Still only 37% done DLing the client at this point . Hopefully we will get some official word on the situation soon.

My guess is trial accounts are not activated and will not be able to log in. Though I'll probably try it anyway but I'm expecting to be shown the door.

Hehe...yep, I am expecting the same thing but you can't blame a guy for trying!

The main forum is hinting at there being a patch fix to make the client work (which I assume changes the startup connection ip in the config and stuff like that)

Check your email and especially junk email boxes (yahoo apparently junks it), if you were subscribed when the game went down, is what they are saying, to get the info for this patch thingy..

The rest of us will just have to wait :]

Yeah I think i'll wait for my retail box to arrive unless they definitely open up the account creation process before then, at which point ill get it downloaded. Should only take an hour or so.

I wish they let us new players join. I would be willing to order the retail box just so i can get on.

I know what you mean mate. I have ordered the retail box!! In a perfect world it'd be here tomorrow but I doubt that, probably on Thursday. But i doubt i'll even be able to activate it and play then....hopefully they'l get the account page up really soon.

  I have done an free trial acount i gues 2 years agoo but never got the chance to play the game now i trie to log on in the web and it is working:P...it say that i can play for free in some noob area i gues.I download the game now and i will play the game becouse of the good feedback of the old players.I am hapy for the fans of this game that is ben resurected.

   I will give this game a trie till Aion hit the market.

 Yes, you can use the old client but you have to patch it with a file called ryzom_fixer ... this patcher is available only to the players that has been invited by Spiderweb. 

Anyway, the wait is almost over ... be patient :)

Only accounts that were valid and paid when the servers went down (Feb 08) are allowed (and able) to log in and play on mainland.

Accounts that were locked before are still locked and unable to play.

Trial accounts may play on the free trial island but are unable to change to main. Even if you get a valid cd-key, you won't be able to create an account or change to mainland.

Only accounts that have the VIP-status can play on mainland and there is no method to change your trial account into a VIP account.

Downloading the files doesn't help. It only enables owners of trial-accounts to play on the free trial isle. Creation of new trial-accounts is not possible.

DOWNLOADING THE FILE IS USELESS IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN EXISTING ACCOUNT.

You should mention it everytime you can't wait to post this link against the explicit wish of the Ryzom Team.

As the download is nearly useless to everybody whos account is not marked as VIP it would be helpful for all that have valid accounts NOT TO SPREAD the link as this causes additional traffic that doesn't help anybody (as you can't create a trial account anyway, even with a key) but is annoying for all VIP players that are allowed to log in.

So it would be kind to stop spreading the download-links as it was wished by the Ryzom Customer Support.

Thanks. also just remembered I already had the client d/l on my old machine just need to copy the files over. Was mainly interested in being able to get back to trial island

My account status was OK also, but I had changed my e-mail account so I did not receive the e-mail.

I logged on the CeB chat and they helped me out and I'm up and playing Ryzom again.

The first time you run the CeB chat program you have to login with your username and password. So enter your username when it says login. Just for those of you that need their hand held as much as I did, lol.

Of course I had been a paying subscriber for over a year. However my impression was if you could get to the account status page and the account status is OK -- then they intended for you to be included in the VIP access. Just my impression.

For the rest of you, I really hope they open Ryzom up to you sooner rather than later. I miss all the chat from newbies, other than that Ryzom is as good as ever as best as I can tell.
