I can't honestly say that my expectations are very high for the game (despite being a big SG 1 fan), but ranting about a game that is pre-beta with very few details available seems a bit over dramatic. Oh wait, I forgot this is MMORPG.com. |

You saw footage from a pre-production build (it still has many months of work left before it hits the shelves) and there's currently no plan to ever put the game on consoles. |

wow im really suprised by the amount of people critisysing this game. plz remind yourself it is in alpha not beta and not just away from realese. and how a i believe that cme have said many times there not releasing on console so i think therefore its not 100% made for console you said OP. also what does halo got to do with stargate |

He is right about "Halo" part. At 1:57 in this video, you can see a lvl 50 char that looks nothing like you have ever seen in Stargate. It resembles more of Terran Marines from Starcraft. |

ok ill give you that the armour at the video index 1:57 does look a bit like halo + terran marine armour but you know that cant be helped they need good and diferent looking armour as you lvl. I think it would be a boring game if everyone had the flak jacket armour that sg1 have |

I love Stargate to hell and I'm sure you all do too, but remember that there's still a good amount of time before the game is fully released. I know that I myself think that the animations are choppy/not fluid but I put faith into the developers to fix it all up before release :D |

How is it aimed for consoles? It's a true RPG like Everquest or World of Warcraft, everything is decided on a dice roll, no aiming, no twitch, no bunny hopping. Sad to see people just bitching about a game for the sake of bitching about it. |

I don't think that people understand what pre-alpha means. Anyhow, this game is not a FPS, if you want that, there are literally hundreds of other games in existence which fulfill that market. This is an IP trying to make a mmorpg.
Honestly, I think we mmorpg players have become really critical of games as a whole. Hell, I'm surprised people even try to develop games for our sector of the market anymore if their name isn't Blizzard, Funcom, SOE, or NCSoft. I am going to hold my criticism until I see the game on my computer, myself, etc. |

I couldn't agree more with a statement. This is something that I find depressing about the community as of late (DISCLAIMER: Before someone postes the inevitable "not everyone is that way" YES I KNOW, and I do not imply that everyone is indeed this way....it just seems to be a growing problem) I understand being upset when something is going wrong in a game, but constant threads about "I quit and heres why" seem to be attempts for attention. Saying your no longer interested in a game that isn't in beta seems a bit out there as well, but to each their own. There is money in the mmo market and this is a good thing...the more games that are released and are successful only mean good things for mmo players. If you don't like a game thats fine, you are always entitled to your opinion...but can we reach a point where for the most part we either play the game or we don't. Discussions are great but downright blasting or praising a game is sort of silly. This is just my opinion. |

What I've seen looks pretty good considering the developemnt stage. I particularly like the Mob AI, I like that it moves from cover to cover to get a better angle on you. Graphics don't look bad for Alpha, they still have 6 months to get all looking great. |

Yup it's mmorpg.com alright, shame really cause the concept and certain articles make it a very good website, but it's all this "Game X sucks" what brings it down and gives this website such a negative spin to it. Anyway like you said hard to say how the game will turn out, I too am a SG-1 fan also have enjoyed Atlantis. Only thing I can agree on is that so far I have not been to impressed with what I saw. ( and saying not to impressed DOESN'T mean I didn't like what I have seen so far cause it does look okay so far, besides I am not easily impressed so far only game that impressed me was pre-cu SWG) But then all I saw was pre-Alpha or concept art and we all know how much things can or eventually change, so to have such a strong opinion as OP saying the game sucks is something no one is able to tell at this point. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

ya dont slam the game until its released but my concern is the game is going to be Tabula Rasa but in a SG world. I actually like TR but combat can become a little 'autolock, point and shoot'. Tough to make it feel like you have actual control in combat. I would like Mass Effect combat where you can use walls as cover and you have to time shots etc. |
