It also always had like 60% lower population then any other server even at the games peek years. That's the problem that a game like Darkfall has. Even if it does launch it will attract some of the worste bunch of people you can imagine to it and it will fail on that fact alone. And will also have miserable server pop numbers simply because of its' design. And the fact that some of the DF devs played on Darktide should not be bragged about. It should be concealed because it just shows me what kind of people they really are. lol A game design like Darkfall is NOT something you do to make money and succeed. It's something you do when you're actually trying to fail. Darkfall is one massive failure waiting to launch. |

One of the interesting points about darkfall lore and alignment system is the fact they gave the Alfar (darkelf) the ability to openly kill anyone with no alignment penalty so it would attract all the PKs and dingwods. Just by acting like themselves they act consistent with the lore. |

I played with some of the guilds mentioned in both UO and Shadowbane. I share another board with Hades from LoD, and I like him though I don't remember his views on DF - probably the same as mine - vapour trails to follow) Having said that, the OP sounds like a bit of a nutter. (sorry, Meel, but you don't come off as being very credible here) Of course, his profile reads that he's from Amsterdam so he COULD be posting from a smoking cafe with an internet connection. If so, cheers mate - share! |

Some facts about Meel: 1. He use to stealth and hit you while you were weak or defenseless. If he felt even a little bit threatened he'd run continously, using any type of exploit to get away. 2. Meel use to talk crap and always thought he was the big king melee of Darktide. He wasn't anything until Turbine messed up PvP in Darktide and made melee so overpowered any dumb twit (like Meel) could compete. Meel is a pompous, snot nosed talking little kid who thinks he knows and is everything. Truth is when Darktide had real pvp skills, when players like Fenix would own even without the major love melee got, Meel couldn't compete and ran his ass off continously. Don't let him fool you. However, about Tasos and what not I'm not sure. I've heard rumors some former Darktide players indeed began work on a MMORPG just wasn't sure which one. splat |

You, supposedly played a game with Tassos, and that makes you feel DF is legit? Are these guilds suppose to impress me? Sorry, if I'm not impressed by people who take MMO playing far to seriously as to think I will remember their pathetic guild names 6 years down the road. Lay the keyboard aside, crawl out of your mom's basement and get some sun. Name dropping AC guilds. Is that how you get all the ladies? That's a hoot! DF forum gets more ludicrious every day. |

who cares how many people are in a guild. TBH i would rather be in a small guild with alot of good people and friends, rather then in a guild with 10k+ members, wich i would only know about a few dozen of them. I commend guilds who stick together, but all they do is make gameing a job/duty. I like to play games that i enjoy, not which game my guild jumped to. |

Regardless of how people don't like others with real gaming history regardless of how much of a chump they are, this is interesting. And does prove a number of things , with respect to hardcore PvP and the nature of some of the guys now owning and developing DF. In a lot of ways the fact someone thinks DT was full of degenerates is fine but you have to remember that a lot of people did not have a lot of choice PvP wise. This also proves the relationships between Tasos and Yellowbeard and even moreso the reson he was allowed to visit interesting. |

I played the same game as Richard Garriot, guess that makes us old time buddies now. /sarcasm
The press is coming, what people seem to miss is that they've had to turn people away from visiting them this year so they could reserve time for the actual press. Yellowbeard was shuffled out in 2 hours so that press and financers could come in.
As for the major press... I don't know why they haven't had them yet, maybe they have and the word isn't out. Tasos has said that there will be some news this August, but he says a lot. Companies like Gamespot might not be willing to travel all the way to Greece for a no name MMO from a no name company. |

I am a big fan so no buts there. But in guild speak terms some of the hardcore PvP guilds do speak with each other. And i just thought that there is a closer link , than the stupid example SignusM gave trying to be clever not constructive. It would also explain why they showed Yellowbeard the game and had a chat for old times sake when they are so busy. That is no reason to doubt Yellowbeards integrity though. |
