Id bet you anything this game is going to turn out like nexons latest trash bag game "Combat arms" I think a lot of people are hopeing its going to turn out to be a saver for Planet side vets but I honesly doubt it. Id say EQ1 and Planet side were SOE greatest achievements. I have yet to be satisfied with any ammo from any company other than SOE, Blizzard.

Its nothing like combat arms......(combat arms is not a mmo)

its nothing like planetside......(Planetside is barely a mmo)

Its more like a mix of unreal tourn and wow.....its a full fledged mmorpg with quests, pve raids, and such

And combat arms is a good fps....its basically a free counterstrike...a bad fps is like soldier front or warrock

Well i read everything i could on the website there and the only thing that looks fun are the graphics....

Thats just a fan site....

Marl can you enjoy the game without having to PVP or is it a PvP centric game?

Both....

You can definetly not pvp at all, but im not sure how many endgame "raids" there are.

The pve can be very challenging, I havent got to try group stuff, but it should be alot of fun.

I know they said that a good half of the game is based around PvP so I expected at least that much, it's good to know that the other have is PvE and that it at least will engage the PvE crowd.

I'll be playing regardless.

MMO stands for Massively multiplayer online; PS is only game that provided us with 450ppl fights on one place. There is no other game before or after with such a high player number on place fighting. So by any means this game is Massive, there is no doubts that its multyplayer game and you cant play it if you are not online so i dont see what do you mean by "Planetside is barely a mmo"?!

Theres no economy, you cant change the world, you cant own anything your fighting for, theres no real objectives.

I like planetside it has very fun gameplay, but it could really use some more features......

You are mixing two things MMO and MMORPG or RPG so PS is not "barely MMO", PS is full blooded MMO.

In PS you can change the world and you can change it more than in almost any other MMO around except maybe Shadowbane. You can capture the base, you can capture continents, you can have some core fights for base upgrades, you can upgrade your base etc.

If you played PS you should know that in order to capture base you have to fulfill some objectives.

You can drive vehicles, upgrade your weapons and armors, you can work on your merits (not sure is that the right name any more) etc etc.

If your definition of MMO is to have shield, sword and elfs than PS is not MMO otherwise please stop it with this ridiculous statements.

No i didnt say anything about rpg....I didnt say levels, raids, quests, char growth....

I think you are mistaking me for someone that thinks it should be more like wow, well I dont.

You cant change the world, you can change what faction owns a base......(which has no real meaning)

Your objectives are immediate objectives like hack a base, that would be like saying in a rpg the objective is to kill 10 rats (since that is what you are doing at that time).

I like the gameplay of planetside as ive said, its a fun game (the vehicles are great).

Ill give ya the fact that not many mmo's let you change the world, but they have an economy and most arent a pure war game. At least in wwiionline you can actually win the war. I still put planetside in my top 5 mmos.

Just leave it be man, he did say Planetside is barely a MMO which is freaking comical.  

I played PS way back when there were 5 servers and for someone to sit here and say that that was not a Massive Multiplayeris thats just freaking crazy.
