I find it so funny that people just can't accept how this game is being developed.  They are spoiled by AoC and others that spend so much time and effort on hyping the game way before release that they expect it.  So when a company just doesn't follow normal MMO procedure, it must be vaporware or something.   Ive never followed console games before release, or single player PC games.  I see a trailer on tv or on a site a little while before release and then maybe look at the FAQ on the site, and then decide on release if i want to buy it or wait for reviews.  Thats it. 

I may be wrong and there are fansites that release a lot of development stuff on single player games, so my bad if i am.  But why cant we just let them develop it and then when its all done we will get the marketing stuff before release.

 

Honestly, if that's what the devs wanted, they should have kept their mouths shut about the game.  The devs are the ones creating hype with nothing to back it up with.  Put up or shut up I say.

Darkfall Devs have in no way hyped the game Darkfall. They informs us about the game, nothing else. Its the fans like me that hype the game.

Darkfall Devs isnt like Age of Conans Devs where you found yourself buying a unfinished product thinking it was the next messiah of MMORPG. Thats cheating its community. Its being a scammer and a thief. And it ruin alot for other MMORPG developers and hurt the whole genre.

So far i havent seen anything else from Darkfall Devs then total honesty and an addiction for making the best MMORPG ever created. And a honest longing for playing and enjoying the game themself.

 

pretty much what i see with some misunderstandings and some hard times for the devs (in all honesty there to honest which makes them look like liars.

But i believe this time they will release a new video..... why? So that they can push back this game a few more years.....

A secured publisher usually means its a game coming. What made you make that statement of "i dont think they will release anything". Please elaborate abit on it if you can. =)

I hope the video is one that showcases all fo the different features darkfall has to offer. 

On another note.  If you signed up for clan beta 3 years ago, make sure your roster is up to date with correct contact info.  Just a heads up  ;)

2008 is the first officially statement that a beta and release WILL take place. All other years beta rumours and assumptions have NEVER been official company statements.

Its what other (fans and trolls) have read into them. There own hype over something that never was promised.

The video will be gameplay like large sieges, hopefully some dungeons, crafting and why not some fighting against some large mobs. =)

Honestly, who the heck can figure this company out? Nothing they do makes any sense what-so-ever, according to the laws of MMO design, as we known them.

They have a solid design and consistent approach, their practices are very recognisable to people who work for a living.

They need NO marketing at all, and NO real publisher.

A good game in this day and age will sell itself and with the ease of digital distribution they can market to millions for free.

They have a Publisher

They need NO financial backing.

They need NO true extended beta test, claiming they are feature complete and fully in-house tested.

Who can name ANY other company that followed these guidelines and came out with a successful product? They may well pull it off, but it's very hard to explain their reasoning.
