It's just one day that in sl has open the Sleek building, a place where you can find news about an mmorpg that will take place in sl. I've find it by chance while i was strolling around looking for another place few days ago, and ask to the owner about the game and it seems to be interesting. However you can check the site too www.sleek-thegame.com . Sometimes I get in SL for events or other stuff, but this could be a good reason to be a resident, often i found sl boring or meet people that consider it so, but i think that it's a powerfull instrument for everybody to create something cool. mmm... will see |

there are already several mmos inside SL - none of which are any good and regular play would cost more than a normal mmorpg. How does a treasure hunt make any difference? -- |

The OP is likely directly related to this sleek project and is advertising. ---- |

I don't know if it will be different but i spoke to the owner and the game will be real complex and can be played in all SL world. the treasure hunt it's just a game they do to test some solutions. Well at least this is what i understood. oh, and they say we could win big prize in cash.... I give them a chance because seems like they spend time on it (the other mmos you talk about are really poor e nobody believe in them) and I think they have had good ideas to involve players in the project. But it's true that is too early to judge. |

... oh you think i'm releted to slekk? maybe we can't talk about what we find new. maybe i'm the one that open the thread "sl is not a mmorpg" to which I reply with this one. maybe i was in the forums to find out something about sleek... REally think that the second life discussion in this forum it's only to get SL down.

SL has always been an MMORPG, where have you been? MMO = yup RPG = ton of freaks pretending to be the opposite gender in order to get some kind of sexual gratification.. sounds like role playing to me SL has plenty of role playing, plenty of people playing games, but no redeeming quality to it. Sorry if I offend anyone, but playing virtual life is far more sad in my book then anything you could do in a normal MMO. |

eh im just saying its not a game. putting little games in it isnt going to change that imo. i mean you can log on yahoo messenger and play pool or chess against people but its still yahoo messenger.. a chat program lol. SL wasnt made to be a mmorpg like WoW or something. an it would be hard to retool it as one. thats all i was saying. im sure its good for what it is. gamming its not tho lol. |

Hmm always thought the sl was liek thge sims online, a game for girls and weird people. Having a real mmorpg in it might make it a decent game, but i doubt it. I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long. |

SL isn't and will never be an mmorpg. What it is on the other hand is more like a glimpse at the future of the internet.. instead of flat pages in browsers it'll be a virtual reality experience, like we see in sci-fi all the time. SL is just as much a game as the internet itself is. Or in other words it is not a game, but a medium on which some people run games, among all the rest of the misc stuff one finds on the internet.. social forums, advertisement, porn, discussions, company profiles, chat rooms, etc, etc.. and games. ---- |

Second Life is not a game. It's more of a platform where other applications can be built because it has its own scripting languange. If you can imagine it, you can build it. If you can't find others who can and collaborate! ;) |

sadly lag and network issues plus bugs in sl make any other mmo look good.
I play sl for the people I no longer buy guns, cars or anything in sl except clothing because even the most tragic and badly coded proper game out there does it better.
It doesn't matter how inventive the scripters are in sl or how amazing your product your at the mercy of a badly coded, badly maintaned system.
