Any race can be a death knight.

If you're thinking along the lines of   "you have to have a paladin to create a death knight... your paladin goes evul!!1" that's wrong.  To create a death knight you just need a character level 55 or above, then you are eligible to create one death knight per server on any server.

So If i lvl my night elf hunter to 55 I can magically turn him into a DK? whats the 56k beware title for?

Just thought that a Deathknight was a pally gone bad which only humans dwarves and Blood elves can be so  it would make a little more sense.

Last I heard about Deathknights

You can create one per server.  When you create you DK you can pick any race/sex available, no restrictions.  The DK starts out at level 55.  You do not need to convert any other character into a deathknight, but I ->THINK<- you have to have at least one character on your account that is level 55 or higher?

I will leave the lore behind death knights to someone who is more familiar with it as I have never played the single player warcraft games.

Hehe your gnome death knight looks great! I'm most likely going to be making a gnome DK myself, so its great to see how they look so far.

Also, just to clear something up about DK creation. You don't "turn" an existing character into a DK, you simply make a completely new character who is a DK. In order to make a DK in the first place, you have to have another character who is already level 55 or above.

Great, little squirts running around finally being powerful because they're Death Knights.
